Polyester

Polyester is a naturally water-repellent material that can withstand the elements.

Why

We use both virgin and recycled polyester in many of our products to enable durability and longevity. But we're not alone in the widespread use of this synthetic fiber that’s derived from petroleum. In 2021, the global production of polyester reached 61 million metric tons for the clothing industry alone.

Where We Are

To decrease our dependence on virgin petroleum as a source of raw materials, we have dramatically increased our use of recycled polyester. For our Spring 2023 season, we used more recycled polyester than any other fiber, diverting material that might otherwise end up in landfills.

What’s Next

Our goal is to completely move away from using virgin polyester by 2025.
