Cash Berzolla
Cash is what happens when you give a surfboard wings. Born and raised on Maui, the young waterman has been surfing his entire life and picked up foiling in his mid-teens. Cash surfs when the waves are clean and the wind is down; when they’re not, his foil turns bumps and chop into a magic carpet ride, allowing him to stay out on the water longer with his friends, be it in the ocean or on a lake or river. As he puts it, “a one-foot wave on a foil can feel like a six-foot wave on a surfboard.”
Despite just turning 20 years old, Cash is already pushing the boundaries of what’s possible on a foil with a unique style that’s as playful as it is cutting edge, so much so that he has a signature technique, the Berzolla Bottom Turn. Whatever he’s riding, Cash is just happy to be on the water.
“Being on land can be so crazy and can make life feel super intense,” he says. “But when I hop in the water, I’m focused on one thing and one thing only. It brings me a peace of mind, helps me relax and most importantly, it’s fun.”
