Protect the ocean so it can protect us
Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

I like the fabric a lot, soft and just thick enough to wear it by itself. The fit is good except the length of the body is a bit too long. Perhaps 1" shorter will look better. It will be even better if this style comes with pockets options.
I don't like half-zips in general because I feel constrained, but this is a great exception. It is great for cold weather (errands or hiking) and can easily be layered over as well. I am already planning on getting another one.
I have more than one of these wonderful pullovers. I wear them while teaching Nordic skiing. A lesson moves from lower skiing intensity to higher skiing intensity and I can count on this layer. I use it as a base layer and when shedding layers it keeps me warm across the board. The materials are soft and stand up to frequent laundering! I highly re... Read Morecommend this product!!!!
Perfect pullover fleece to wear as a base layer. Pull over is form fitting but I like it since I mostly use it as a base layer. I usually wear this during my walks in the winter season. Absolutely love it!
Very comfortable; not too tight with a thin base layer underneath...just the right piece for Winter running, but equally useful inside on those days when you just can't seem to get warm and want something cozy to put on that isn't a sweater. I bought a size small which I wear in everything Patagonia, and the fit is great. Highly recommend... Read More!
Fabric is extra stretchy and feels like a warm, cozy second skin. Wicks well and is a perfect cold weather base layer and l look forward to wearing thru summer months for cool mountain weather too. Patagonia - please(!!) continue to offer this pullover and make available in more & brighter colors. Bought one in XS, and loved it so much I ordere... Read Mored 2 more. You sold out of the 3rd color in XS so I bought a second green one in XXS AND LOVED snugger fit even more. Sadly it looks like this style is being discontinued. Please keep offering this style and add some brighter colors!
As a midlayer I take an XS, but the Small is great casual wear & 40 degree hiking under a shell. Amazingly warm for such light weight material. The dark olive drab color sets off silver hair. .. who knew?
I love the feel of the traditional R1 fleece. That grid backing is so comfy, yet breathable. I got this R1 Daily for simple casual wear and because it was on sale. I never expected to like it as much as I do. It is very soft and cozy and I find myself reaching for it as a heavyweight baselayer on frigid days, when I'm simply hanging out with f... Read Moreriends and even just around the house. I might actually prefer this over my regular R1 pullover for casual wear. It doesn't breath as well, but it is extremely comfortable.
Big drawback with this piece (and my original R1) and so many other Patagonia items...it's too long. Not everyone is 5'9" and taller. Make this, and so many other items, 2-4" shorter and with a regular fit, rather than always a trim fit, and you would have some serious perfect performance pieces. Just because I wear a size large or extra large, does not mean I'm tall. It means I like loose-fitting clothing.
But I can't argue with the great Patagonia quality.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review! Please rest assured that we will be passing this feedback along to our Product Designers so they may look into adjusting the length on this product for future iterations.

Great additional base layer for skiing
Very excited to try this as an additional base layer for colder ski days. Super soft thin fleece layer inside, feels good against skin. This is form fitting but still fits over my 1st base layer and not too bulky; can still wear my ski jacket shell over it without any issues. My only complaint is the zipper -- when I zip it all the way up, it almos... Read Moret always gets stuck and I have to tug and pull at it pretty hard to unzip it. It's happening enough times that I may go and try to exchange it at the store.
This is soft, fits well and is very attractive. It's also very warm. So warm that I cannot wear it for anything but lounging around the apartment. Any exertion and I am quickly uncomfortably hot and sweaty. I live in Northern CA so I think it's not cold enough here for me to make use of this item. I have an old mid-weight capilene that I ... Read Morelike very much, and I did not realize how much warmer this was going to be. I also got the R1 daily bottoms and they are equally too toasty.
This is a great fleece but I do like my R1 air better. More the look than anything because this fleece is very comfortable and performs well. Totally a personal preference. That said. I wear it often.
Great top for everyday wear in my rural remote-ish northern region of the US. Loose enough to accommodate base layers, fitted enough to allow more layers on top. Excellent torso length like all of the R1 tops -- allows total range of motion - including arms over the head - without exposing any torso skin! Consistently warm even when sitting or stan... Read Moreding still, and provides some wind blockage. Has held up nicely with several cycles of machine washing and line drying, no pilling or fading. And looks great, flattering, and nice enough for business-casual or dining out. I have not taken it "off-path" yet, so cannot say how the fabric would hold up to brambles/twigs/rocks.
I wish all of Patagonia's tops fit me this well! This is slightly fitted so it isn't baggie but is loose enough to wear over other layers. Highly recommend!
Originally purchased for a backpacking trip to Peru. Cant wait to use it there. Tried it at home and I love how the fleece feels on your skin. So soft and comfy. Warm too.
I have been an R1 fan for years and this top does not disappoint. It is super lightweight yet feels cozy while wearing. I love to throw it on over tanktops to go to the gym or wear it as an extra warm layer while hiking/biking. I measure a size small (pretty true to size 6 in Patagonia) I went with a medium to wear it as an overlayer, not an underl... Read Moreayer.
Surprisingly warm for such a light-weight item. I play pickle ball, so not a lot of high intensity. Early spring in NJ is still cold. I wear this and stay warm.
Just picked up the new r1 daily from my crags climbing shop and am super impressed! The slim, stretchy cut hugs the body in a very flattering way and the fleece is extremely soft. For reference, I am 56, 130 lb muscular build & the XS is perfect.slightly fitted but stretchy throughout. It is less warm than the traditional regulators but the fab... Read Morerication is incredible.. It wears so well during sweaty endeavors in the shoulder season, tho i imagine this will become a staple base layer year round. Its mobility is perfect for climbers, breathes like a dream while running and is comfy enough to sleep in. I pair it with the Houdini on a mild, windy day & was very content. Well done, Patagonia!
Perfect layer for the in between seasons in the PNW. Its exactly what I want to wear to hike in the spring or layer under a coat in winter when skiing. Super soft on the inside. I often choose small sizes but medium was just right without being tight. Very happy!
I bought this to replace my favorite polar fleece 1/2 Zip, that apparently is discontinued or out of season. Its a little too slinky/clingy for my taste; I kept it, but will only wear it around the house.
I love the slim fit of this pullover. It's not too slim of a fit to highlight any "rolls" you might have. The material is amazingly soft, I just want to live in it!
Nice and warm as a baselayer underneath outer jacket. Room to wear another layer either under or over. It will be very useful in a number of combinations with other layers.
Absolutely love this piece. Multifunctional item that is very cozy and love the face fabric. Washes up great and wears well. Please make in more colors!
