Very nice material (soft) instead of the usually hard ‘plastic’ feel of a raincoat. Also long arms which is very nice and comfortable- especially for someone who is 1.90m.
I was looking for a thin waterproof jacket that I can wear even when its not raining. The torrentshell is a little stiff that I would only want to wear while its raining. This is the first item that I’ve bought from Patagonia that has disappointed me. It’s way too expensive for a thin shell jacket. I didn’t realize it doesn’t have an inside pocket or a chest pocket to put keys, phone, etc. it would also be nice if the side hand pockets were lined. I understand this jacket isn’t for cold weather but my hands are ofte... Read Moren cold when wet from rain. I’m strongly considering returning this jacket. It just isn’t worth the price…even when purchased on sale.

Fantastic jacket in all respects!
This is a simple (in a good way), waterproof jacket that has all you need if you are looking for a lightweight all rounder. Many details that are well thought through and elevate this jacket above the competition. The colour is also fantastic. Nothing to complain and only praise here.
Excellent quality as you would expect from Patagonia, together with a flattering cut and fab greyish blue colour. The cuffs are slightly gathered to avoid gaping which works really well but no pit zips in case you were expecting some.
Thank you for writing this review! You are very correct, this product does not contain PFC nor PFAS. Both of these are a blanket term that refer to all fluorinated chemicals but we solely use the term PFC. What this means, within Patagonia, if something is PFC-free, it is also PFAS-free. Comfortable for golf and traveling
Love the longer backside and the fit is perfect .

Lightweight waterproof shell that is stylish and functional. As with most waterproof shells, it can be a bit stuffy when zipped up fully, even with the zipper open between the two snap closures. One can minimize the stuffiness with some strategic layering under the shell.
My partner purchased this coat for me, after he bought one for himself that he loved! It is replacing an old rain jacket that was little more than a windbreaker. What an improvement! This is a high quality shield against the rain and comfortable, too. I love the earthy color, as well! Highly recommended!
The sleeves are very narrow. I cannot wear anything but a single layer under this coat because the sleeves are too tight. Because of this, this jacket is only good for warm weather wearing.

I’m really excited with this piece! Very lightweight, waterproof as promised, great fit. Based on my measurements the size guide recommended a Large (with a certainty of 85%). Finally it was too loose on me so I went for a Medium that is just right.
This is such a great looking jacket that is clearly made to last. And I appreciate Patagonia for working to make a less toxic option to wear. i will surely enjoy this jacket for decades to come!
I bought this jacket to replace my old rain jacket and it has been great. It protected me from not only the rain, but the adjustable hood allowed me to synch it in close to my face to protect me from mosquitos in AK. The color and cut also look great. Very hyped on my purchase.
