Protect the ocean so it can protect us
Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

I ordered this in XS and S, as I'm between sizes. Xs fitted a bit snug around the chest but had better arm length. I kept S in the end as you can layer it up.
Love the color (army green) and cut (car coat). It is a shell more than a jacket so going one size up to fit in layers underneath might be a good idea.
This jacket has a classic, simple look, and it fits me just perfectly. I love that it is lightweight and not bulky. I bought it for a trip to Ireland where I didn't want to be wearing the kind of rain jacket that looked like a hiking jacket - and marked me as an American tourist. I wanted something with a classier, urban look. I have yet to go... Read More to Ireland so I'll have to report back when I do! But thank you, Patagonia, for making a jacket that doesn't look like all the others!
Hey Laura, thanks for your review. We're glad to hear you're loving the jacket! We felt that it was important to point out that this jacket is water resistant but not waterproof. I like the fit; it is roomy enough to wear a micro fleece underneath. The color is wonderful and the buttons lend a nice look and feel. The fabric is quite thin, however, and I wish there were a lining for warmth and weight. Please try again with this one, you're off to a good start.
I stared at this coat for about 15mins and knew I had to buy it. The material is lightweight and the cut is adorable. Do I have an obsession with raincoats, yes. Is this now my favorite? Absolutely! Best purchase of the year.
Water beads up on this jacket, so it's waterproof. As other reviews note, it seems a bit like the top layer of a multi-layer clothing plan. Since it buttons (which is fine with me), the layers below (like a fleece quarter zip) will cut down on the wind. I am going to be fine in the wind but it's not a windbreaker. It is longer than shorte... Read Morer jackets which aren't helpful in the rain. I wish the pockets had zippers. I don't think there's an interior pocket either. So it's not as smart a travel jacket as it could be, which is unfortunate. It folds up. I am going to have to squish it more to be really small. It is one of the few waterproof jackets that's not a loud, bright color with the better protective coating. It's a little dull in color, but that's probably fine for this jacket.
This jacket runs true to size. It's a great casual jacket, but could look dressier. The fabric feels a bit like a water resistant fabric, but is softer.
This jacket has become my favorite one to wear. It seems to be water proof (so far), its roomy enough to layer (which is very important in the PNW), it has a detachable hood, its casual yet you can dress it up as well. Its just the perfect jacket to go about town/shopping in.
The only thing that would make this jacket perfect is the sleeve length... Read More. Right now I have them cuffed but I might have them hemmed up.
I bought this on sale but had I tried it on in the store at full price, I would have bought it without batting an eye.
Like the other reviewer said, it's extremely thin and lightweight. I would have to find a quilt liner to make this jacket useful.
I love the hood and the overall style! I wish it was fleece lined for that price.
When I purchased this, there were no reviews and no photos of a model wearing this jacket/coat. I used the chat to ask the chest measurements of sizes Small and Medium. I highly recommend doing this, as I was able to perfectly determine my size. I considered giving this 4 stars because for some reason, I expected the fabric to be more canvas-like a... Read Morend a bit more substantial, even though the specifics of the description are very clear on what materials are used, and the weight is specified. So just a warning, this is extremely thin and basically just a rain jacket, not even comparable with a typical trench. However, as far as the design and style, it is very flattering and comfortable. It is well made, and the pockets are great. Surprisingly, I have been getting a lot of use out of it. I say surprisingly because I live in the U.S. Southwest with little rainfall, but because the jacket is so lightweight, it is actually ideal for a hot/mild climate and for chores that might be a bit dirty, and I know I can wipe off the surface of this jacket easily because of the water-resistant coating, which is non-toxic (thank you). Overall, I do not regret purchasing it, and I really like it, but for anyone in a cooler/colder climate, especially with heavy rains during autumn and/or spring, you might want to give plenty of thought before purchasing.
