I love the cool capilene shirts! They feel so soft!
These shirts feel so awesome against my skin. They run true to size, work well under light jackets, sweaters, or just by themselves. The weather where I live has not warmed up yet, but they will also be a standard for hiking. I have bought several so I am well supplied!
I wear this for outdoor activities for sun protection. Hiking, pickleball, biking. It is so comfortable and can wear in warm weather without getting over heated.
This is the first capilene shirt Ive tried. I bought a white one and one with the Patagonia logo on it. I love these shirts! They are perfect for casual wear or under a vest for work. I cant wait to order more. I like the cool feeling against my skin and the lack of bulk when wearing something over these shirts. Send me more!
I have (had) 5 of these shirts. They are light weight and great for travel. However, I got the orange color and the arm holes were smaller that the 2 grey, yellow and blue ones I had bought. A good underlayer as well as a shirt you can wear on its own
I ordered this shirt because I needed a new long-sleeved shirt. I really like it as it is useful underneath another shirt on chilly days, but I think I will wear it in other seasons. (I have only had it for a few weeks.) My only request is that Patagonia creates petite sizes as the sleeves are somewhat long for me.
This long sleeved Capilene shirt is perfect for wearing at night, either alone or under a pajama top, for wicking away night sweats! It's soft and comfortable, perfect for a good full night's sleep.
I wear the cool daily LS as an extra lightweight layer. I am 5'5', weigh 135, 40DD, and purchased the large. [hope this helps] I have three LS, and multiple short sleeve; this winter, I plan to purchase a couple mid-weight Capilenes. I use handwash setting in cold water, hang to dry [drys fast]. No wrinkles. Love the colors!
This shirt runs true to size and is slightly shorter than most other shirts. It isn't a fitted shirt, per se, but the material makes it more fitted than loose. The material is very nice for outdoor, sporty activities.

This shirt is perfect for wearing under my scrubs at work. It's also a great layering shirt. The capilene shirts are my favorite! They are cool and very comfortable.
I was looking for something to wear for skiing, but armholes seemed too small and material was way different from previous long underwear tops I'd purchased that were made out of fabric Patagonia called Capilene.

Great feelp
Use on my walks. Perfect for our weather all year round.
Got one as a gift, bought another last year and just bought a third-blue, yellow and black.
I wear them as an undergarment at work under my Volunteer "Smock".
I wear them to take long walks and I wear them under a fleece to ski. Never gets smelly and wicks away moisture. I also have four in different colors in short sleeves.

I bought this for hiking and running but also find I like wearing it on my days off due to its silky smooth feel. I am usually a small in most brands, but I like how the medium feels on. It dries fast and seems durable, so I'm looking forward to wearing it a lot!
Fits right in all the right places. Unlike many quick dry shirts its not too sheer. Rolls up to take very little space when packing. Easy to rinse and dry to wear again!
These shirts (I now own 3) are nice and thin without being too clingy. I use these for hiking, skiing,swimming, boating, biking. All sports. Great for staying covered up from the sun but thin enough to wear hiking in the hot tropics. Thanks for bringing back thin capilene.
I love the fit and color. Im 130 lbs and this fits perfect. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars is because the fabric is too thin for me and necessitates another layer either over or under. But hey, thats just me being my conservative self.
the capilene material's improved a lot in the last few years, it used to be a little scratchy and didn't feel super stretchy (based on a tank top from years ago!). this material was soft, stretchy, and a really good base layer. i sized up so i could layer it over or under for snowboarding and backpacking.
All Patagonia products are awesome. This is just cut slightly close under the armpit. I wish it were dropped a little and not right up in there. Otherwise the size is good. (I tried size Small but it was too big).
I wear this shirt to play Pickle ball. I like to wear lightweight long sleeves especially in the summer with the sun- this is perfect- got a lot of compliments.

Im embarrassed to say that I now own 5 of these shirts (some plain, some with logos). They are in daily rotation in my super-casual wardrobe. They make great travel and layering shirts. I love this material. I can wear it throughout all seasons. In the winter working up a sweat outside, it pulls the moisture so I stay dry and warm. Perfect base layer
I haven't loved a simple shirt like this in a long time. It's comfortable and is a great base layer. I bought a few of these shirts for a Wilderness travel trip to Scotland but I have been wearing them every day, in the winter, as a base layer inside my 98 year old bungalow in Denver. I find they eliminate the need for 3 heavy layers. They wash up well, hang dry fast and no stink!
Comfortable, warm, great alone, under jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, etc., or under jackets/shells. The material is also breathable. I have a small build with broad shoulders and long arms, and I wear a Large because I like some roominess. This is a staple - I love it and own several in both long and short sleeves.
I was surprised by how this shirt worked so well as a layer in winter. I wear it under my wool sweater, and it is soft and fitting next to the skin. I have multiple colors and styles of Capilene Cool Daily Shirt -- Long sleeve, short sleeve and tanks. They are so comfortable, look great, versatile for travel, and don't wrinkle when packed. Fit is true to size but on the loose side. Great for layering.
I own quite a few Patagonia Capilene shirts and they are amazing. They go from being an extra layer under a scrub shirt at work in winter to an extra layer hiking. The shirt helps keep you cool in the summer, but adds a warm layer when needed as well.
Excellent long sleeved capilene shirt-warm, but wicks well so never hot. Launders well, but I hang to dry, so uncertain if it does well in dryer. Good variety of colors to choose from.
I bought one of these on sale a few months ago. I bought another one in black because it has become a staple at this point. I love how it's not tight or form fitting. It fits just right. Versatile shirt. Very easy to wash out and wear the next day while hiking. Provides good protection, nice and light. Only issue is that I don't like the x-dye, look at all, since that looks more masculine and the colors aren't feminine or pretty.

Tried this out on a hike today, 25 degrees (77 degrees) and cloudy with a little breeze. Above these temperatures I'd opt for the short sleeve but this shirt performed perfectly and I didn't need to think about sunblock on my arms. Looks great in gray. Long sleeves in summer, who knew? (Everyone but me apparently.)
Well designed, lightweight, high quality fabric, multiple uses
Patagonia is a company I purchase from often because their products are high quality, well designed, fit well and have multiple uses. I wanted a lightweight long sleeve shirt in white and Patagonia was my best option.
True to size. Like that it falls mid to lower hip on me. Fabric is excellent for wicking moisture away from the skin. Love the feel of the fabric on my skin and fabric moves well.

This is the perfect sun protection shirt for outdoor summer activities. I wear it for biking, hiking and speed walking. After getting skin cancer I am careful to wear long sleeves. This shirt is breathable and cool enough for hot summer temperatures and quite comfortable for exercise and movement. I only wish it was available in more colors!

Good cooling features for a long-sleeve hiking shirt
Because I am sensitive to the sun, I have to wear long-sleeve tees or shirts on the trail. Not ideal on a hot day, I guess. Read Moreurchased three in different colors. The best asset is the versatility. I wore these on a four day, 200 mile, mountain bike trip through Idaho in triple degree temps. I rotated my two each day (preferring the light lavender to the darker green) and these kept me the most comfortable and refreshed of the 13 in our group. They keep the moisture in and protect skin from the sun. Conversely, I wear these at end of the day to run at the beach in early evenings, hiking, and also have worn them road biking with and without my biking jacket. They provide a layer of just the right coverage when anything warmer would be too much. I've also worn them layered for skiing and early morning runs when traveling in colder climates. I also love to snuggle in these in evenings after my ocean swims or at home with a pair of sweats when I want something on my arms. Essentially, they keep me cool and keep me warm. I cannot say enough about these shirts. I am careful not to wear them doing yard work as they are thin and, while mine are fully intact, they easily could snag. I gifted one to my brother years ago when I first discovered them, and he wore his working around the yard and such, and it did snag and tear with his heavier use. I have a closet full of Patagonia, and these are the most versatile of any of their clothing. I'm ready to order two more, one in each the yellow and gray, because these are my go-to activity shirt.
Love the weight and fit of this shirt. Its definitely roomy but I want that when Im being active. I bought the white and its a nice thickness, not see through at all yet light weight.

I have the Capilene Cool shirt in all six colors. I live in a warm climate where I use it for everyday wear. It works for tennis since it cools but avoids sunburn. Wear for horseback riding, hiking and working in dog rescue. I have worn Patagonia for years but this is a great product at a reasonable price.

As I've reviewed with other colors, I own dozens of these in all colors, and I wear them every day of the year here in the PNW. I like them baggy, but M would be my true size.
I rotate wearing my six Patagonia shirts summer and winter--in winter under sweaters and in summer as a top that protects my arms from sunburn. They are fabulous. They wash without showing wear (my white one shows a bit of wear on the cuffs after raspberry picking!) and they hang dry quickly.... so perfect for travel.
I like the idea of this shirt but am not happy with the sizing. Based on traditional women's sizing - with the expectation of everything fitting snuggly - I would wear a large (5'4", 150 lbs), but I always size up to an XL in shirts because I don't like them to be tight. I know this shirt is regular fit and therefore looser, but... Read More the XL is enormous. It easily feels like an XXL (if not bigger) and looks ridiculous on me. Unfortunately the color on sale sold out quickly so I wasn't able to exchange it for the correct size. The color selection of these shirts is atrocious. Why is Patagonia ignoring so many women's requests for a decent choice of colors? These shirts sell out every year, so there's really no reason to not sell them in nicer more attractive colors.

Great for everything!
I love my new Capilene Cool Daily Shirt. I really wear it for everything: cross country skiing, hiking, sailing and warming the couch. Mine is yellow-so cheerful! And it matches the tabs on my retro vest.
I LOVE this shirt for backpacking sun protection. Its perfect all day for slightly cool mornings and hot days. It breathes so well and doesnt get stinky. Please make them in more light colors, like light blue, lavender, light pink, etc.

I love patagonia's capilene shirts. This long-sleeve is great to layer under a sweater (yay sweater weather!) or wearing it alone while paddling or hiking. It is super quick-drying, thin but durable. I am 5'3, 150lbs with muscle arms, bigger belly and a medium chest and I wear a size Large (it is a little loose on me, which I prefer).
I bought this to to keep me cool while hiking in the summer and wanted long sleeves and high neck so I won’t need to apply as much suncream. The top is lovely and soft, a lovely colour and I’ve worn it hiking in the warm weather and it did keep me really cool. I’m now considering buying a second one.
i have bought this to protect my skin from sun as I have a vitiligo and this is rated as 50+ UPF. it seems to work for this purpose so far. it fits nicely, and feels cool even when it is quite warm. i don't particularly enjoy the texture of the fabric (it is kind of slippery) but i will get over it!

I have this shirt in 4 colors. I wear it everyday when I go out running or on hikes. It is lightweight and dries quickly. It gives great sun protection so I don't need to put sunscreen all over my arms. The fit is classic and roomy.
This is my second shirt like this. I have worn it alone or as a layering piece. The shirt breathes so as you heat up from activity it wicks. When you cool down it isn't clammy or won't stick to you. I love this top. I don't like boat necks or bell shaped bottoms - so this is a great fit for me. Relaxed not too clingy and not a "ladies fit" ugh. I'd just like more choice in the colour range - you have them in the US so why not introduce them here?
Kept me cool throughout a hike in the desert canyons and cool through hot softball games. I usually feel like my skin is burning, but not with this shirt .
I have this long sleeve in 2 other colors, so added the black color to the mix. Perfect lightweight shirt to hike in when it's cold in the morning OR to wear under a sweater during the winter time.
