Ms Iron Forge Hemp™ Canvas Cargo Pants - Regular

4.6/5
Kinda Large
March 17, 2023

Good pants but only one length

The pants a really good quality and fit really nicely. My only complaint is they only come in 32 length so now I need to get them hemmed.

March 17, 2023

Bada$$

So far, simply awesome.

March 15, 2023

Tough pants

The standard inseam is a bit too long but otherwise great fit. I like the wide range of motion and supple material. All the pockets are really solid too. All around really confidence inspiring pair of cargos.

Durable and comfortable

i have owned many pairs of these pants and overall they are are very good. On all pairs that I have owned, I have had to have a seamstress replace the inner white pockets as they wear out quickly. Then also along the pocket where I keep my tape measure wears out within 6 months so I have to have a piece or heavier cloth sewn on there. After the fir... Rugged heavy pants ready for true work

This pair of pants are the heaviest pants I have in my wardrobe. Excellent for working in the snow or windy conditions especially with a base layer under them. Still havent been able to get a tear on em so their definitely worth the money. Great pair of pants!

These pants are incredibly tough

These pants are incredibly tough and durable. I like to call them bulletproof. Im phasing out my old cargo pants for these. I just wish they came in more colors. Well done, Patagonia.

January 23, 2023

Very soft

The fabric is very soft and not at all itchy. There is a seam on the cargo pockets that can rub against your thigh slightly, which takes a little getting used to.

January 19, 2023

Superb!

These are seriously the only pants I wear. I have a weird fit, narrow waist and big sprinter legs. These are the best fitting pants I've worn and the most durable. Need a button, weird stitching

I love the iron forge hemp fabric but the cargo version of the cut is a bit ..off. You can feel the inside stitching from the pockets quite a bit. Slightly uncomfortable. The 30 was a bit snug in the waist but a shorter cut and the 31 was an extra inch in inseam and too large in the waist and leg width, as far as my preferences go. Will keep wearin... Way tougher than denim

I own two styles of Iron Forge Hemp jeans and have essentially lived in them for many months, indoors and in the woods. They seriously outperform denim. Neither has frayed around the cuffs or shown any other sign of fabric wear--though black does fade to charcoal after a washing or two. They are heavy and stiff at first and only partly limber up ov... Read Moreer time. Soft, they ain't, but I'll happily forego that for durability. The fit is different between the two models. Odd errors

At 6'2 and ... stout... I found the 38's a little large, but comfortable. I like the weight for cold season wear and the comfort. I had to have them hemmed up even though I tend to run a 36" inseam, and two of the belt loops failed on the first wearing, a clear manufacturing defect. Bomb Proof Work Pants

I purchase workpants from a lot of different brands. These are most definately the toughest and softest of them all. I think that's where the hemp truly shines. Patagonia has definately over-engineered these pants. I had gotten them on sale for half the price, but even at full price I'd say they are definately worth it. Unfortunately ther... Read Moree are cons for me. First, the run really small in the waist. Like, really small. I wear a size 30" usually (pandemic boosted me to a 31"). I got a 32" just in case and they were still too small in the waist. I ended up with a 33" and they just barely fit the waist. I've never had to buy a 33" in my entire life. Also, the pants are hella baggy. This may not bother some, especially because there is no stretch in the fabric so the extra room is probably necessary. However, I feel that because i had to size the waist up so much, the rest of the pant like the leg width also increased slightly; maybe, I don't know for sure. This is probably more of a preferance for me; many work pants are now slimmer in fit so these seem like old school in fit. Lack of stretch material will definately bennefit these pants in longevity factor. They are so durable I dont think you can ever wear through them. So soft too.

As described, good quality

A very nicely stitched and thoughtfully produced item. A few previous reviews noted the weight of the trousers being too much; Patagonia have made this clear in their description and they are certainly not too heavy. It's difficult to find thick enough trousers that are also warm. Great work.

Rivet came off, but still a 5 star garment

Great pants so far. Only issue if you will is a rivet on one of the back pockets popped off the second time I wore the pants. Structurally the pants seem fine, not really a reason to send them back but it would be great if the rivets stayed put, long term it could be a potential weakness and result in a separating pocket. In that case I would have ... Read Moreit sewn back on. Love the pants now more than ever and my little girl loves storing things in the side pockets. To dig deeper, the rivet popped off when I put my hand in the rear pocket, so it was gonna fall off anyway. Returned a great product

These pants are amazing. But, they are quite heavy and I would likely only wear them in the Winter in the hot and muggy deep south. Also, the 34" waist was a tag snug for me. Exquisite Fit; Heavier than Expected

One might say "heavier than expected? It's Hemp Canvas, of course it's heavy," but it's heavy. That said, truly a great fit. Strong, tough, durable(colorless)

Like the title says, strong, tough, durable and a bit colorless. Theres only two colors, I wish there was another color or two, maybe a "dyeable" undyed color-natural state? They seem like they should last quite a while. I got some slight bleach on my black pants, which is mildly disappointing, and the black ones are also getting some of that orange edging coming off near the zipper, not too much of a biggie (after it got washed once or twice), I suspect my mild disdain for it is hurting the pants, because its black, but in full sunlight it kinda looks like dark navy blue. Good Pants

I've been wearing these primarily for everyday life for 2.5 years now. I use them regularly for hard hiking and general work. they fit me well. They tend to rip out at the crotch after about a year for me, but I want to stress that I use them religiously and for hard work. I have gone through 3 pairs now, and am ordering more.

Without realizing it I had accidently bought a size just a tad tight and after much debate I decided to keep it because of I have been losing weight at a steady rate. Read Moree knife clip spot as well. With some reviews saying they ran really small I was pretty nervous about ordering my normal 36 size, so I had my wife (who has run a custom costumes tailoring business) measure me according to the size chart on the website. I ended up buying a 38 based on that, but the 38 ended up being too big! Moral of the story, ignore weird sizing reviews and get what you'd normally buy size wise. Patagonia team: AWESOME job! However, can we please PLEASE get a pant in this material with rugged design consideration in a straight leg? These are fantastic pants but I'd like something just as rugged that is less of a "dad pant" and more of a true "every situation" pant. The cargo pockets are accesible and useful - note: there is not button, velcro or snap on the cargo pocket flap however the curvature of your leg tends to keep the flap closed. I use them for working in my yard (5 acres wooded) home projects, dump runs, dog walking and weekend chores. Very rugged, nothing snags on them and I cant see them tearing. The waist runs a bit small, maybe 1/2 inch to an inch. But the pant itself is very roomy and baggy. Length is good. Im 6ft 180lbs. They are not quite as warm as thought they wou... Read Moreld be. Great

Great durability and and when I do manage to put a hole in them the repair service has been great. Best work pants Ive found.

Excellent build, small in waist

I really enjoy the quality of these pants. The material and sewing is excellent. However, despite buying the 36, which usually fits me with Patagonia, the waist seems very tight. The length of the pants seem perfect for my 6'4 (195 cm). I do powerlifting, so I really like the seizing at the quads and but.

Great design, great pants

Though Hemp Canvass Pants are great the weight was heavy for my purpose. i thought the weight would be similar to "jungle pants" i wore in 1968-69 in Vietnam, but with typical Patagonia panache. The panache is there though, even in an Iron Forge design. Bravo!

Cargo Pant

I love that everything is being made by hemp, finally! I did order this pair in my normal size and they were definitely 2 sizes too small. I re-ordered to a 36 and am very happy now. I can't wait to wear for years to come and of course if I have any issues Patagonia will take of it. Great company with wonderful stand-behind values!

Love these pants

I ran across these pants online and I thought that I would give them a try. When they arrived, it was clear that they were substantial and rugged and built to last. Strong but rough

This product is built strong and can probably last, however it feels like sandpaper to wear and are the most uncomfortable jeans Ive ever owned. Also the side pockets are extremely puffy and bulky on the lip. I love almost everything Ive ever purchased. These jeans are far from good.

Heavy Duty, Well Built

I am writing this review during summer, and these pants are definitely not made for summer - they are a heavy gauge fabric not suited for So. Cal. summer. However, winter is always coming, thus I am ready with these pants. The cargo pockets are deep and stuff stays in (like my wallet and phone). The fit is not too big nor small, I would call it &qu... And I suspect it will get better over time and washing. I ski regularly and always need a pair of heavy duty pants for ski trips, these are they, and they will also work well on camping trips, but they are nice enough to wear around in the evening for a night out to dinner (when we ever get to do that again!) Overall, a high quality, heavy duty pant, backed by the best guarantee out there.

Excellent!

Fits right on. Great looking pair of pants, very comfortable. True to size 100%, so make sure you understand to order the right size. Means: 32w is 32. Very rugged and stylish pair of pants. The coriander is a great color, getting the black as well.

Relatively light and super tough

As a farmer, I have several pairs of the hemp work pants in various colors (each color has a different weight and sun absorption). The cargo version of these pants is obviously awesome thanks to the substantial side pockets. The poly-blend makes them breath and float nicely while being nearly indestructible...

I initially purchased a pair of the black and a pair of the brown hemp cargo pants which grew more supple with time and each trip through the laundry. Great Pants

I bought these pants from the website because I did not have time to go to my local Patagonia store and check them out in person. They are substantial and thick, but not bulky nor constricting. I know that these pants will last me a long time without tearing or without me wearing holes in the knees and upper thighs. I am delighted with the quality, the material and the fit. I am planning on buying another pair within the month so I have a pair that I can wear on washday. Thank you Patagonia for not only being environmentally conscious and for conforming to Fair Trade guidlines, but thank you also for showing the world that you can make good products at a fair price and still minimize your impact on the environment.

Truly great work pants

I'm a designer fabricator and also spend a lot of time in the woods doing trail work and splitting and collecting firewood. Withstands Tornadic winds! ...But really...

These pants are really the best work pants out there. I am an organic vegetable, and medical farmer in Oklahoma. But I did not realiz... Read Moree just how strong they REALLY were until Spring of 2019. My wife and I were in Texas, at her tribe's ancestral grounds. We were enjoying a nice, rainy afternoon watching Dances, and walking the grounds. To make a long story short, while we were sitting in awe of the traditional Grass House which sat on the property, an EF3 tornado landed on us without warning. My wife and I were caught in the middle of 165mph winds, outside, unprotected. We sustained several injuries, but that day I happened to be wearing a pair of these Iron Forge Hemp pants. From the waist upwards my body was COVERED in what we started referring to as "tornado rash," basically road rash from tiny, wind born debris. BUT, from the waist downwards, everywhere my Hemp pants covered, I had no superficial injuries! These pants saved me a lot of hurt. Now I'm not suggesting anyone go get in the way of a tornado in some Iron Forge Hemp clothes and expect to be okay, but this is a testimony to how incredibly durable these are. When it's in my budget, you better bet I will get another pair. Thanks for making such a quality product.

Real, last-forever cargo pants.

These are my winter pants for around the Bay Area. Carry all your gear around with you right at hand. Combined with a Patagonia shirt with the giant zipper pockets and the only thing my day pack is needed for are extra layers etc. These pants should last at least ten years.

Excellent Pants for hard, long days

I work as a roofing supervisor so these pants take plenty of abuse. They fit great, feel great and are tough. I also own a pair of the shorts. Love the long pockets; for warranty jobs I’ll just stash my tools in the pockets, so much room.

Great pants

I've had them for 10 months and they are no more worn than the day I got them. Although, the material is thick and durable, it is very soft and not at all stiff. The fit issues I reviewed on the double knee pant only seem to be exacerbated on this pant. I'm a skier and a runner - so fairly lean but with skier quads. Tough as Nails; Comfortable from the Get-Go

I've been wearing these pants for several months now. I wear them while woodworking, welding, and while doing farm chores. Solid quality from Patagonia

I had several worries about these pants before I bought them. Was the material stiff? Were there enough pockets and how useful are they (I'm a "pockets" guy so this is important to me)? In spite of this,I bought the pants and I'm very happy I did. They are lighter weight than many work pants I have and roomier. I can see wearing these well into summer,if required. They have the right amount of "hang" off the hips and are very comfortable. The legs are loose but not too relaxed and are comfortable standing, bending,or sitting. The front and back pockets are deep and full and hold everything necessary very well. There is no cell phone pocket but I find the cargo pockets work for that. They are well constructed; a little tighter at the top to keep whatever you are carrying from popping out. The flaps hang free but are thick enough to stay down and not fold up at the corners. I've had no problems there. They are good for a casual work environment as well as tearing about town or hiking in the woods. The material isn't heavy enough to protect you through scrub or brush but it's good for casual use. I've only worn them in the Fall and Winter but they hold up well against the freezing winds we have had here in Oklahoma. Highly recommended! I'll be buying another pair.

I live in my work pants, literally, and have found the roominess, comfort and all around utility of these pants pretty refreshing.
