Perfect for spring and fall
I wear the long sleeve version of this shirt all winter for running and it's fabulous. Finally got the short sleeve for spring and fall to replace the ill-fitting race t-shirts I was running in between seasons. This shirt is so soft, fits great, and doesn't get stinky. Essential year round base layer
I ordered the Capilene cool Merino shirt in Sequoia red to serve as a base layer. I wear an 8-10 in Patagonia so ordered the medium. It is a regular fit with a longer front and back for good coverage during activities. It is lightweight but can be worn as a solo piece because it isn't see-through. Good addition.
Pretty Great but Not Durable
I wore this shirt on the PCT last summer. About 3 months in a few large holes appeared on the back where my pack was sitting. Other than that, it was the perfect shirt. Comfortable, cool, lightweight and dried quickly. It smelled after a few days (of course) but nowhere near as bad as polyester. I will continue to buy these for backpacking because ... Great Temp Regulation
I have two that I alternate and layer under vests. I wear them at my very active job, walking 15K-25K steps per day. Do not want to take it off.
This is the most comfortable and most flattering cut Patagonia has made in a t-shirt. So breathable and comfortable on my skin that I just want to keep it on. It is a bit pricey for my budget but if Its like my other Patagonia items it will last a long time and be worth it.
Comfy, cozy, and a good layer or stand alone t-shirt
I have several of these tops--both long and short sleeve. I love them--they are great layering pieces and also look great worn "alone". The fit is spot-on. I have lots of them, in different colors and am waiting for a purple version...
Lightweight but delicate
Took this tee on the John Muir Trail and loved it because it was easy to rinse out each night and didn't smell at all, even though I sweat a ton. However, it's reallllly thin and that makes it pretty delicate so it snagged the first day I wore it and now has some holes. The black color also faded on the trip so the shoulders are kind of o... Best Base Layer Ever!
After tiring of the smell of my old Capilene base layer shirts (even after washing), I tried the Capilene merino shirt. Best shirt ever! Really love this tee. Wouldn't have tried it on, but I was in the store & colors jumped out at me. Love both the blue and pink, tho they all looked great. Order it :). p.s. if you're sensitive to textures, you might not find it as soft as capilene, but I still recommend.
After much debate I pulled the trigger and based on the model and reviews I ordered this in a size small. It fit but was a little too small for my liking. Hi I recently purchased the wool capilene blend long sleeve and I love it and it fits great. I got the short sleeve to wear as a base layer on warmer winter days. However the sizing is completely different. This shirt way too tight in the medium. Im 5foot 5 inches and weigh 133 and usually wear a medium .

Great material and color in blue
I love the shirt but I bought an XL because it is a slim fit. I usually wear the L. This tee is like a short dress on me. I am going to try the medium to get the lovely blue top on sale again. I am keeping the tee, it will work under other clothes.
Pilling After One Wash
I appreciate the wool in this shirt giving it better temperature regulation, but I was disappointed when it started pilling after one wash.

This pilled on the 2nd wash. I wash all Patagonia in gentle detergent on delicatr or hand wash and air dry. Sadly, I noticed it after I got cooking oil on it so it renders it useless. It's unfortunate too that after all that money you have to pay to have it looked at. So bummed.

Really does pill on the first wash
This shirt is wonderfully comfortable and the rosehip color is lovely and so far it has not picked up BO and has dried quickly. Im a fan of merino wool in general and the Patagonia blended capilene specifically because it is so odor resistant. I've taken it on travel and been able to wash it out in the hotel sink - and had it dry by AM. I do wash these in a delicate bag and hang to dry - I do wear them quite a bit and they look like new. As far as length goes, these hit below the hip - if you plan on carrying a pack with a waist belt, that means it's long enough to not get caught in the belt and ride up - so it stays put throughout the hike.
