Great Polar fleece no pills washed beautiful colors a re true
It all works great I love the colors thery are made beautiful ans I am warm I have a lot of these. Thanks for having great fleece !
This pullover is very soft and snuggly. I was so bummed to discover it had no side pockets when I put it on. Otherwise its great, but I dont think I would have purchased had I known it didnt have pockets.
After reading other reviews I decided to buy the XXS, even though I'm a XS in most clothing. It's roomier than I expected but great looking and surprisingly warm. The only drawback is that it doesn't have hand pockets.
This is my first Patagonia jacket, and I was impressed with the quality and feel of the fleece. It was very warm even with just a light cami underneath, and pairs well with leggings for a casual look. Based on reviews, I sized down to an XXS assuming this style ran large; however, the XXS fit me EXACTLY right and I decided to exchange for an XS as ... Read MoreI prefer a looser fit. The elastic at the bottom is a little restricting and i wish it wasn't included, but hopefully it'll be less tight with a size up. The pocket is also not as functional as I hoped, since the sides are sewn down and you can't fully lift the flap up. Other than these issues, I can see myself wearing this pullover throughout the colder seasons-- I even introduced this style to my mom, who loved it and ordered one for herself! For color, I ordered the Berlin Blue eucalyptus frond style. While I usually stick to a neutral palette, I decided to break out of my comfort zone and experiment with a brighter color. The blue is a beautiful baby blue in person and the leaf design is pretty faint unless up close, which I prefer. The pop of pink is also a fun touch-- I'm not one for neon colors, but it's subtle enough to not draw too much attention and adds to the overall style. This may be my first Patagonia purchase, but definitely won't be my last!
I purchased my first jacket like this last year. In that one I have an XXL and I decided it was time to buy one that fit better so I got an XL this year. Theyre not heavy, but in windy environments and very cool temperatures (40° or lower) youll still be warm even if you just have a T-shirt under it. Id say its perfect for almost any kind of mild/cooler temps but of course if youre in much colder environments layer up! The sizing is pretty large and not true to size. Ive bought XXL in multiple brands and of course they all fit differently but this one is MASSIVE! The sleeves are very roomy length and width wise, and in an XXL the jacket covers my bottom (I am 52). The sleeves in an XXL also come down past my hands about 4+ inches so yes if you want the sleeves to cover your hand size up! Im fairly certain an XL will provide that roomy fit I love while also being slightly more fitted so it doesnt look like Im swimming in a jacket. At the end of the day, I think the quality and price of this jacket really hit the mark for me. If you take care of it, itll take care of you. Yes, the other reviews are right about the pilling/shedding but after multiple uses its not as bad. I would 100% follow the care instructions and definitely do not wash this unless its heavily soiled.
Love this print. I previously purchased one a few years ago and its great for layering or just to wear by itself. Ive gotten lots of compliments on the new print!
I bought this Fleece in the Smolder Blue w/Alpine Blue option and I absolutely adore it. I wear it whenever I have the chance- including casual Friday. I LOVE the pattern, I love the warmth, I love the way the fleece floats away from the body creating a slight cocoon effect that is SO cozy. Waited too long to make this purchase.
I have an older model that is indestructible. Wanted a different color. The older version's fabric seems a bit thicker than the newer one but will keep anyway.
I was looking for something mid weight to wear hiking this fall. I was able to put my down sweater under when the weather turned cold and windy! Love the pocket/pouch for easy access to phone and hand warmers! Ready for fall!
I have several other Patagonia tops. I bought the bright pink with blue one. These things last forever and keep you warm and comfortable. The only thing is that I would love to have had side pockets on it. I like pockets in everything!
I love the synchilla snap t! I have been buying these since 1992. Quality is great, will last years. Very warm and soft. I like mine oversized so I bought a womens large but usually I wear a small or medium in Patagonia jackets. Cant go wrong with this!

Purchased for wife, fleece was great when it first arrived, but after one wash it's pilled quite a bit and looks like it's been worn for years now (unfortunately not in a good way).
Thank you for your comments on this and we are so sorry to hear about the pilling. Unfortunately, pilling with knit garments can be inevitable as it is the nature of those fibers. I got eucalyptus fronds vela peach. I have never worn XS in a Patagonia top but that's what I ordered based on reviews stating it runs large and it's even a bit large on me. This is cute, comfortable, adorable. It's not sexy. I am 5'3" 128 lbs and I normally wear a small in tops and XS in bottoms.
I weight 128 lbs, 5'3", bigger on top than on the bottom. I bought an XS based on reviews. I normally buy SMALL and usually small is almost too small on me. For this sweatshirt XS is a little big on me. So size down. It's very adorable and comfortable.
Love this fleece (I own two). It's so warm, lightweight, and perfect for travel. Runs slightly big. I am 5'3'', 125lb and the S is a bit roomy. Also love how quickly it dries when hung after wash.
I have had two of these. I love them. on my first one the button fell of but Patagonia fixed it for FREE!! I love this fleece. it is a little pricey but it is worth it.

Love it, perfect weight and perfect fit! Thank you Patagonia for offering in a larger size (xxl). I hope that more items will be offered in a larger size!!
I received one of these for my birthday and was skeptical about how it was gonna fit. The size chart says that XXL only goes up to a 52 inch chest and being that I have a 56-58 inch chest i figured there would be no way that this would fit me. I ordered the Dawn Patrol ski pants for my son because I liked mine so much. Mine are at least 2 years old, and are of much better quality. The material is heavier and the suspenders are wider more functional. It is a gift for Christmas, but I will encourage him to return them.
I love fabric and the warmth of this fleece. I am usually a medium, but a medium felt really large on me so I sized down. The color of the oatmeal heather looks slightly more yellow in person, but I still think I like it overall. Really comfy!

Super warm and stylish. Don't regret the purchase at all
I really like my sweater. Quality is nice. It will be good for fall and late summer nights. The color didn’t look like the picture, but I still like it. I don’t love the elastic waist. They run big.
I have the heavier version of this Synchilla and I love it but sometimes for in the summer it's a bit too heavy for the California nights. Bring in the lightweight version in fun colors and it was a no brainer. Great for layering, comfortable fit and fun vibe!
I got my first one that was grey and I loved it so much. I wore it so so much so I decided to buy another. A black one I got has lint balls all over while the white one has lint flying all over the place. At first they are a little big, but after the first wash they get a little fitted.

Granddaughter loves your fleece tops. The one purchased was on her list!
My wife loves the Synchilla fleece. The patterns and colors are wonderful. It fits true to size. She buys one size larger so she can wear a sweatshirt underneath.
I am thrilled with this purchase! I've had other, less expensive fleece coats and pullovers and I am amazed by how much warmer this Patagonia one is. Definitely worth the money. I love the brown/red color combo, too.
Everything about this pullover seemed perfect, but it was not close to the colors in the pictures. It is dark brown and deep red. Very disappointing and not the look I was hoping for.
the color is amazing and so soft! it fits to size but i wish patagonia offered a wider range of sizes, specifically larger ones. this one fits me, but many of my plus sized friends have to order men's fleece options or aren't able to find any that fit at all. you would definitely have more buyers if the sizing was more inclusive!
So excited about this pullover! My last one I got as a junior in high school and it lasted 25 years!! This one is going to replace it and I have very high expectations!!
I love my ltwt Synchilla! They are the perfect weight for cool weather and can be worn either layered or as a stand alone piece. They run larger than the re-tool snap-t, so keep that in mind.
I wear this everywhere. If it’s windy, I put a long sleeve shirt under and I’m fine. I ordered a large because I like to layer underneath but I could have gone to a medium. I’m 5’6 and 160lbs.

Very Smart and Warm
This fleece manages to be softer than any other I've tried while keeping warm. The look of it is sort of traditional but also fresh, and the colorway ("Kastanos Brown") is very smart-looking.
I am pleased by my fleece. My only design quibble is that the bottom is restricted, which can drape weirdly, and also causes stress on the lower edging.

Holy Awesome!
This sweater is the perfect cozy piece to throw on at the end of the day, or to wear throughout the day when you want to be comfy and warm!

Sleeves are too long and big
I love the look of the Synchilla Pullover, but when I received it in the mail the sleeves were long and wide. I have broad shoulders and average length arms so this is not a problem I usually have. I tried on a size smaller and it was still obvious that the sleeves were too long and wide.
I've only worn it a couple times, but it appears that this particular material pills up easily. I'm just hoping over time (and wash) it settles down.
I ordered a Medium and it fit great. Super warm, only problem is that it sheds like crazy until you wash it once, and then it becomes pilly and looks a little more worn than it should. Other than that, a great product that lasts for years and years!
Perfect colors & quality; Nervous about washing it
When I ordered this product, I was nervous about the maintenance care because many others reported "pilling" of the material. I am 5 ft 1 in, about 100 lbs and an XS fit me perfectly.

Comfy, but definitely a relaxed fit (NOT regular fit)
I don't know why, but Patagonia is constantly changing the fit on this item. I initially bought a M, then had to go to a L, and now the L seems roomier than last year's version. But the fabric and construction remains the same. The only thing I'm a little disappointed in are the shifting sizing and the extra tight hemline elastic. Pa... Read Moretagonia is usually very consistent within their fit guidelines, but I feel they missed the mark on this, especially for this season with it being even looser than usual. All model photos show the synchilla being worn with the hemline exposed. If you were to do this, the elastic would be super tight (for those of us women with hips... like any at all). I'd actually really like the hemline to be as loose as it looks in the photos (not super loose, but looser than it actually is) as I currently have to "tuck" the hemline up and let the edge fall over it; otherwise the hemline is constantly riding up. I mean, if you look at the photos of the pieces off the models the hemline seems not elastic at all - it's even with the edge of the material. In reality, you would have to be stretching the hemline to have it hang like this.
All that being said, they do have a marsupial version that probably fits more like what I'm wanting. Unfortunately the color selection on it is not at all what people have come to enjoy about the synchilla. So I stick with the original because it is super comfy and, bad photographs/modeling aside, is a really great piece that can really be "personalized" considering the colors available.

Patagonia Jacket
I love this jacket! I ordered the olive green one in a size large since I like my jackets to have a looser fit. This jacket is a perfect option if you are looking for a casual jacket that is super warm but nicer than a sweatshirt! It is vey durable as I have washed it many times and is still in awesome shape,so it is very comforting knowing that it will last and is okay to wear outside. It would be an awesome thing to wear outside while it is in the 50 degree area. This fabric is extremely comfortable and warm. Since the fabric is fleece,it is breathable as well and will always be a good go-to jacket.
Since this fleece jacket is nicer than a sweatshirt,it is even able to be worn to work! Paired with some jeans and boots will create a perfect outfit for a relaxed environment at work. It would be perfect for someone who would like to stay warm and comfortable at work.
One negative that I have noticed within this jacket,is that the collar tends to pop up randomly instead of staying folded over. It does make it a little uncomfortable, but once you wear the jacket a few times and wash it,it tends to get a little more relaxed so the collar will stay down easier. An easy fix!
Another huge positive to this jacket is its modesty! Many of the jackets that button up,do not button up very high. This jacket's buttons are very accommodating and will be comfortable and covering for anyone who purchases the jacket!
With all of the different color options, this fleece jacket is a perfect fit for anyone! For someone who wants something different, they can choose one of the brighter colored jackets or one of the patterns. For me personally,I love things that are a little more subtle, but still have color to them. That's why the olive green was such a perfect fit for me!
Over all I think this jacket is a perfect fit for anyone who is looking for a warm and comfortable jacket for the fall or winter months. It is extremely durable and I am sure that this jacket can last you for a very long time!

In comparison to the Re-tool Snap-T,this "lightweight" fleece is significantly warmer, thicker, and sized differently (note the "Slim" fit of the Re-tool vs. "Regular" for Synchilla lightweight). I wear a women's L in Re-tool and a M in this one,a 5'3" and 150lbs. I do like the fit of both, but I find the bottom band of the Synchilla a little too snug - it does ride up with activity.
The thickness and warmth of this fleece is similar to a thick wool sweater, and I've needed only a thin wicking layer underneath for a hike in 40F. I've even gotten too warm in this layer and at those times,I wished it could be a little more breathable. The Re-tool lets wind in,which is sometimes good, sometimes bad. This fleece is bulky beneath an outer layer,in my opinion, more so than the Re-tool. Not sure about calling this one "lightweight," for these reasons.
Overall, another great layer from Patagonia that covers some of the bases left open by others!

I've had this for around a year and I find myself avoiding wearing it because of the spandex binding at the bottom. It's too tight and rides up around my waist when I'm active. I started to get nervous upon trying on an XXS thinking it'd be too short or tight. It's not! I love this- it's roomy for an under layer but it doesn't look oversized. The sleeves are the perfect length and it falls at my hip. I would say the fit of this sizing for the XXS is like the retool pullover in a Small.

After looking at t... Read Morehe reviews though it seemed like an XXS would work. I just received this fleece in the mail today and I haven't taken it off yet! It's comfy and roomy to layer, warm, soft, and cute. My only complaint is that with my last fleece from here there was a huge kangaroo pocket in the front, which would be nice to have in this too.
First thing: this fleece is awsome! It's soft, warm, comfy, not to bulky, but not to light either. Really,in my opinion there is nothing more to ask from a fleece!
Now,the whole question about the sizing... This item is a "regular sizing" item according to Patagonia's chart,it means that it's suppose to be a bit loose and room... Read Morey and it's exaclty like that!
Should you size down? I chose to "size down": i'm 5'5",125 pounds, with large shoulders and I usually wear M in clothes even thought I fit in S because I like my clothes with a looser fit,BUT this fleece is already made to be loose so I bought an S! The fit is great,I can fit a layer under it,but it doesn't look too big for me.
So here is my advice: choose the smallest size you normally fit in! Don't go smaller than your actual size,or else the length won't fit well, and don't go bigger if you don't want to be drown in it!
I know that all this sizing question about that fleece make it hard to choose when you want to buy it,at least it did for me... That's why I chose to go try it in store before ordering the one I wanted,I think it's the greatest option if you're really not sure.
I hope it helped you!

The snaps help to block out the cold from your neck and becasue this pullover doesn't zip, you don't have to worry about your hair getting caught! I will definitely be taking this with me on my hikes up Max Patch and Blood Mountain in the spring becasue of its versatility. My only complaint is that the band at the bottom of the garment is a little tight, so the bottom tends to creep up as soon as you put your arms up. I have a long torso, though, so it would definitely be less of a problem on someone who has a shorter one.
It's best to do your research before purchasing a snap t, especially becasue the sizing varies so much from person to person, but this is the best advice I can give:
-If you have any doubts about your size, go by the size chart on the website
-If you have a larger bust or hips, buy your normal size
-If you're slimmer like me (I'm 5'4 and 105 pounds) size down (got an xxs instead of my normal xs)
-If you have a longer torso, look up the garment measurements before doing anything. I have a long torso and because of how the waistband rides up, it can get pretty short
**It's ALWAYS a good idea to try on a new style of Patagonia gear in a store before you buy it! Waiting to go out and try something on isn't fun, but it's worth it when you end up with a garment that fits perfectly. You won't always get lucky by guesstimating!**
I've been reading all the reviews about how sizing is crazy with this item,so I finally decided to just go try it on at the store... Read Moreup deciding between a S and a M. I think the reviews that rant about how huge this item is are trying to wear it as a somewhat fitted sweatshirt - whereas I always think of a fleece as like a cozy toplayer that could fit another sweater underneath. I guess it just depends on how you want to wear it. The main difference between S and M is that the Medium was longer (hem and sleeves!) - also obviously a little bigger throughout - but I could easily pull it down past my butt and it stayed there comfortably. The bottom elasticized hem of the S was also a bit tighter, and it hit about the middle of my bum - not awkwardly, but just a few full inches shorter than the M. (I don't know the length measurements, but just eyeballing it,the M was much longer). I decided on the S - cozy but a bit more streamlined than the M. For reference,I wear a M in the Torrentshell and the Nano Air jackets. I also tried on the XS fleece and it fit pretty perfectly up top,but the hem was too tight to pull down over my hips comfortably, and like I mentioned,I like my fleece to fit a little roomier. I think it fits true to size if you're talking "regular fit" which is a little roomy,if you want it fitted, order down - but know that in addition to getting smaller overall,it will also get shorter and tighter at the hem.

Best sweatshirt for almost anything, from adventures to sitting on your couch. I'm 5"6' 127 lb with an athletic body and I bought a medium. Runs a little... I bought this a few weeks ago and have found lots of excuses to wear it . This pullover is extremely cozy. I ordered my regular size and it fits big/loose,which is kind of nice. I really wish this had pockets for my hands and then it would be a perfect pullover.
Love this! So cute, comfy, and warm! Love the owls:) Bought a size larger than I usually wear because I wanted it to be a little bit bigger but fits true to size! I usually wear a Medium but bought a Large and it is a little bigger, could have gone medium but like I said,I wanted it a little larger.
This sweater is really warm and comfortable Perfect to wear on a 'lazy day' because it looks great! You can add a few layers under for the winter season too.
I have owned this fleece for 5 months now and I'm still as in love as the day I bought it. It's cozy and warm. Light enough for a spring or fall day,but keeps you warm for winter too. I would buy this again a hundred times over. Also the print makes me super happy and has gotten me many many compliments. Thanks Patagonia. You guys rock.
I would enjoy this more if it was a vest or zip up jacket .the yellow color is beautiful and flattering but for walking everyday I need pockets and easy on and off in case weather warms up. I should have returned this item
This fleece is very comfy and kept me warm while I was camping in Georgia and North Carolina this past winter and late spring. It's looser-fitting compared to other fleeces I own so when I wear it hiking,it provides warmth and just the right amount of ventilation. The fit was as-described.
I brought this on sale and I am so happy that I did. Its warmness and softness makes me feel like a bear hibernating with his full winter coat on! If you want to feel as cozy as I do,I highly recommend this pull over!!!
I bought it recently and have used it in the cold,it is warm and very cosy. Rather than hiking I intend to wear it in the countryside or when very cold at home or in the city. Maybe I prefer one with a zipper and pockets for hiking.
The Patagonia was a birthday gift for my teenaged granddaughter. She put it on the moment she unwrapped it and wore it the rest of the day at her party. She loves it,and I'm so happy giving it to her because I love her !
Love this pullover! His is the first Patagonia item I have ever gotten and am totally in love! It's super cute and keeps you so warm up here in New England! It's worth the buy! :-)
I initially bought this in a medium and had to exchange it for a small. I am 5'8" 130 lbs and was swimming in the medium! I choose the Timber Twist navy blue and love the colors. This is a good layer to have during the cooler months in Montana.
Great sweater. Feels incredible. Love wearing it just hanging out or for casual outdoor activities. Fairly resistant to water (I can wear it in a light shower and don't end up being damp all day).
I ordered and extra large to be safe since I have an in-between body size for most size charts and wide shoulders. It ended up being a little bigge... Read Morer than expected, but I don't mind that for a sweater, since I can layer underneath without worry. It's mostly just long, not overly large around. I feel if you're ordering your true size, but worried about sleeve length or body length,it's probably going to fit just fine with enough length in it.
First I ordered the timber twist: cinder red in medium as I do like my pullovers oversized. The medium is a good baggy size and I like the length, but the width of the bottom of the sleeve was entirely too wide,it truly appeared that the elastic bands at the bottom of the sleeve was totally stretched out. I contact customer service and they stated i... Read Moret seemed like a defect and replaced it for free and sent me a label to return the defective one. The replacement came in and the width and the elastic bands of the sleeves were slightly better, there was a noticeable difference, but the end of the sleeve was still wide due to elastic and with either pullover the sleeves would fall if I pushed them up. The print of this pullover is beautiful and it's very toasty! I then ordered a small and the sleeve width is MUCH better, but the body length is not quite as long as I would like. I did also order the Moon Owl: Harvest Moon Blue in small as well. That print is my favorite! It's just so bright and gorgeous!! I agree sizing is just kind of wonky with the bottom of the sleeve widths, the length of the sleeves didn't bother me as they're on the longer size. I do own the full zip re-tool fleece jacket in medium and have no issues with the sizing with that piece! I do wish they would add pockets to this pullover!! I keep finding myself trying to shove my hands in the nonexistent pockets. That is my number one compliant ahead of the sleeve widths. If they would add pockets to this pullover I would order them in every color! Customer service is top notch as well!
I absolutely love this pullover! I've been purchasing from Patagonia for a few years now and I'm never disappointed! I own a few of the Re-Tool Snap-T but I really wanted the traditional fleece. Whereas the Re-Tool is a little more breathable,I feel the Synchilla is very cozy and warm. Both are great pullovers but I have really been lovin... Read Moreg the Synchilla for the colder winter days as a middle layer. It's great for snuggling, running amok outdoors,or even walks in the brisk afternoon air. Such a great piece and one I will never give up!
This is exactly what I wanted. The fit is larger (I have a size large in the Re-Tool Snap-T Pullover...it's a little smaller than the size medium synchilla) but super comfortable and the colors are amazing! I cannot wait to move back North where I will be able to wear it more often.
I bought this a month ago. I have always wanted one! It fils true to size,is soft and comfortable. I wear it almost everyday. Now I just need to decide it I want some more colors!
I wanted this Patagonia for a while, and finally bought it when it was on sale. So happy I did. It is lightweight but also very warm, and the fleece is very comfortable. I expected it to make me feel a little overheated when worn,as some fleece does, but it keeps me at the perfect temperature. Shrunk slightly when put in the drier,so definitely hang d... Read Morery. Other than that,no complaints.
I bought the Synchilla when it was on sale. I have to say that it was one of the best purchases I've made! I love how comfortable it is. I would definitely recommend it to anyone
I bought this item last year in a medium,I'm 5'9,and while I loved the warmth and style,I found myself wishing it was longer both in the torso and sleeves. This year,I purchased another in a large. I love the comfort and length, but it is quite large for me. So often,I find that I am between a medium and large with this brand. The quality ... Read Moreis great! and both items will withstand the test of time. I just wish there were a happy in between, because this top is really versatile, and tends to be my go-to fleece when I am cold,I reach for the large more often simply for the length. I hope this helps if you're tall and find yourself in the same shoes.
I wish I had 20 of these things! Really amazing product and highly recommend. There is a lot of fabric under the armpits which made it a little uncomfortable the first time I wore it but now it fits great!
