As a "sufferer" of macrocephaly, I find this hat a bit too snug. I was excited because usually hats are one size fits all and this time there was an option for a large/XL size but I still found it a bit snug. That said, I do wear it and enjoy the color and feel. It is a great hat when you want to protect the back of your neck from the sun... Read More and help hide some of the sweat from your forehead! If Patagonia makes this hat again in fun colors, I would purchase it, even if they don't increase the size. That said, please consider making it slightly larger for us who suffer from having a big head! Thank you :-)
I was right on the edge between small and large and went with a small as most people said is runs a bit large. And I'm glad I chose S, because it fits just right.
My wife also bought one, but a large as she apparently has a larger head than mine - funny new info to learn about your partner.

Went to the local Reno store to make sure the hat size was correct. Didn't have my color, but ordered/paid for the one i wanted and it arrived on my doorstep the very next day !!!
I'm happy with the hat. I haven't worn it much yet but the style and colour of it along with the convenience of folding it up are good points. And it should protect you from the sun.
Really appreciate the light weight, overall shape, and discrete logo tag, but as others reported, it's too big. For the price, I think Patagonia should offer S-M-L-XL sizes separately, and if you want to limit SKUs, drop the # of colors. Great for running to soak up sweat and then wring out. Designers, two suggestions: 1) Add a small snap to front brim and body of hat to allow a quick snap to go Gilligan style (front brim held up); 2) Add a rivet hole on brim on both sides of head so customers can run a cord through to fashion a stampede lariat chin strap for wind.
LOVE the print of this hat. Bought the shorts in this print too. Ladies, just be aware that this hat runs a little bit big. Generally, my head is big for a woman, but bought the hat in Small, and is still a bit big, but will keep it. It is darn cute on!!
I really like the colors and style of this bucket hat. I just wish it would hold up better in a wash without it folding up so much and not being able to keep its shape.

Nice Hat!
I ordered the "Wavefarer Clean Currents" bucket hat, and am very happy with it. I ordered the size small, which I would think would fit most women of average size. Comfortable to wear and easy care.
Actually took this with me on a vacation and it was perfect. It was a perfect size and I could get wet easily by the pool and it would barely show and dries very quickly. Ended up getting this in two colors and wore them both non stop.
Solid bucket hat for summer. If its in your cart just buy it, Patagonia is hands down my favorite brand. From customer service to their iron clad guarantee, no one tops them.

I've got a head which is 7 5/8 and this hat fits me just great, it's almost like Patagonia used my head to design the fit! There's no adjustment so you do need to get the sizing right. Great colour (khaki), great shape and folds down to nothing.
I have a larger head- usually I wear a large in most hats. So initially I ordered the L/XL, but it was too big. So I purchased the small, and although it wasnt quite perfect, it was much better!

If youre looking for a good summer hat to shield you from the sun, this is it. The only thing that would be nice would be to include clips in the hat to attach a chin strap for windy days.
A small size should not flop over my ears.i have worn size M in the past. I find sizing has changed drastically at Patagonia over the years. Extremely back business model!!!

Nice lightweight hat
Id been trying to find a quick drying bucket hat that was well made and offered some sun protection. Its a nice hat, but does run a bit larger than youd expect. I bought the large, but it was too big, so I bought a small and it fit me a lot better. Only get the large if you have a really head, or a lot of hair! Anyway, great hat.
I have a large head. This and your wide-brimmed sun hat are the only ones that fit! The strap is handy during strong winds. This one makes me feel like a cartoon character à la Porky Pig but I love it! The yellow one is terrific!
It is a really nice hat that unfortunately runs really large. I have a big hat and wear a 7 1/2 in New Era hats. This one is an 8 at minimum. Currently waiting that the color I originally purchased will be back in stock and then will exchange it for Small.
