Shirt was fine but runs very small.
Hi Lori! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear that the shirt was too small. We appreciate the feedback and we'll pass this along to our design team. You're welcome to start an exchange [here](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).
Excellent product, no regrets!
These are the only flannel shirts I buy. I don't even bother looking at other brands because no one else beats the quality, construct, fit, and comfiness of these shirts. I own around 8-10 of them and wear them as standalone shirts, thrown over a t-shirt, or under a fleece. I find them to be very versatile wardrobe staples that fit great. Does... Read Moren't run too long like almost every other brand. My only wish is that the midweight Fjord shirt and the Fjord jacket fit like these do.
a lot lighter than the midweight version
I ended up getting this on a whim as the midweight version was not available in my size or colors. While it's not as warm and fuzzy as the midweight version, it certainly takes the edge of on a cool day. It's super soft and just formal enough to get away with at "office casual". Flyin the flannel
I have maybe a half dozen of these now and they are my daily fall/winter go-to. They are just about perfect in terms of flannel weight, fit and construction. And the current Ikat Rows: Stone Blue pattern has to be seen to be believed. Such a beautiful pattern! Instant new favorite shirt among favorites! Hey Patagonia, more like this please!
I have quite a number of these shirts, some are many years old. Always a great fit, good sleeve length and cuff size, super soft, keeps shape and is a shorter shirt so no excess length. Some might argue the price is high, but be assured the quality is superb and they last forever!
Some annoyance potential
The shirt looks good but it can be uncomfortable to wear because of the stiff, scratchy brand label -- made from a synthetic-blend fabric? -- that is firmly sewn inside the yoke below the collar. One would think that this design detail would be insignificant but, in fact, the label's hard edges and sharp corners are a frequent irritant if one ... Read Morewears the shirt without a base layer. Great quality product, good fit
I'm always a bit nervous buying clothes online, as I'm never sure of the fit. However, having purchased a few items from Patagonia over the last 18 months or so, the size and fit guides are perfect. When this order arrived, I was confident that it would be the right fit for me, and I was right. It's a great shirt - really comfortable... Read More fabric, a great fit, and great quality
An XXS that fits!
Petite folks wondering if size XXS would fit them, I'm hear to say: Yes! This is the first Men's shirt that fits my petite frame perfectly. Nice addition to the heavy weight Fjord Flannel
The only small downside is that this shirt needs some ironing after washing: it wrinkles more than the heavy weight version of this shirt. Overall well made and good fit. I'm wearing over 30 plus years Patagonia shirts - most shirts last 10 years or longer and never lost a button. Quality is above par. The fact that all cotton products of Pat... Good lightweight version of the Fjord
I wear my standard weight Fjord shirts all of the time and they are my favorite shirts from Patagonia. I tried a lightweight version for a little warmer days in the Pacific Northwest. The weight is great but I wish the hem cut was straight, like the standard weight version, rather than higher at the hips. Being 6' 3" and because I don... Read More7;t tuck in my shirts the length is a little short for me at the hips. Make them with a straight bottom hem and I'd definitely be buying more of them.
Not too heavy
I got this shirt for my husband. He really loved it because although it is a flannel shirt, it is very light weight. He also thought that it was a very comfortable fit. He's 5'7 and has broad shoulders. The length of the shirt was good on him - as were the shoulders. I'm sure I'll buy him another one next year!
Nice Comfortable Shirt
I really like the shirt - not too thick but solid. Very soft and comfortable. Even though fit is "regular" I found it fit large like relaxed. Very nice shirt - super soft and comfortable. Fortunately sizing down solved the problem. I wear a 15.5x34 dress shirt in slim and the small size fits very well.
Looks great, but delicate?
It looks great new. But I am slightly spooked by the reports here of shrinkage. The washing instructions label recommends 30 degrees centigrade. But Patagonia online advice seems to be to cold wash! Cold wash garments are a pain and always shrink one day when they are plonked in the wrong basket. Better IMO to put a shrink warning on so people can ... Read Morebuy a size up.
A Compromised Flannel
This lightweight soft but thin flannel is more akin to Pima cotton shirts than to Patagonia's normal flannel weight. So, its a nice compromise for warmer climes. Great Quality! Not Fair Trade Certified
I really love the design and quality of the flannel and it does run a little big just like all flannels. I definitely recommend this for those cool autumn nights and working in cooler climates. My only gripe is that I wish it was Fair Trade Certified like their other great products.
make sure its washed correctly. shrank a ton.
We are sorry to hear that this shrunk upon washing. For this garment, we recommend a machine wash, tumble dry on low, and warm iron (if needed). If you did that and it still shrunk, please feel free to send it back to us for a [warranty return](https://www.patagonia.com/returns.html).
Nice and Warm
The material is perfect for fall and spring, even layered for winter. The fit is larger in the midsection than their other medium shirts I have so I ordered a size smaller in the other Flannel shirts for this reason. I'm 5'8 and 186lbs with a larger than normal stomach and it was still baggy in the middle.
A bit too big.
I was a long time fan of the 10oz duck pants. Warm in the winter tough enough for 3 of them. Didn't throw them out until the hem was frayed and/or I could see through to the knee. When you came out with the 3 options of length I was in ecstasy. No more trips to the tailor. Then it was 8oz. Then so thin the only thing about them was the weave.... Read More You did keep the heavy stuff for the stand up shorts. Kudos. I try to incorporate the hemp products you offer. Some times the shirts feel a little rubbery, maybe clammy. I was excited about the pants being a blend. In short they were oversized for me, and maybe more pant then I was looking for. Keep going, try new things. That's Patagonia for me. Thanks
I have bought many Patagonia products over the years & they never fail to impress. Always functional, well made, often innovative and less impactful on the environment. This shirt is another excellent product and the quality of the cotton is noticeably better than 'ordinary' cotton.
My Favorite Flannel
I wear this flannel to work, I wear this flannel hiking, and then I wear this flannel out for dinner. Furthermore, I'm pretty skinny (5'10... This shirt would be noticeably more comfortable with larger arm holes and the addition of a back yoke (as with Fjord Flannel and Pima Cotton shirts which are both much more comfortable). Due to the slim fit through the shoulders, arm pit and upper back it's restrictive and it pulls. I'm always aware of it and constantly making adjustments... Read More. Tough, long lasting flannel
I spent awhile looking for flannel like my dad used to wear. Finally found them here at Patagonia. I’ve had a few for a few years now and purchase more as new colors come out. Nice shirt with a lived in feel from the start. Absolutely worth the 5-stars. The only issue would be with the difference in sizings. Smart casual, sizes a little large
Bought for the office and really like it. Comfortable, a nice weight and smart enough without being too smart :-) Sizes pretty large compared to other brands, I’d normally be on the L/XL boundary but would probably go for M next time. Doesn’t spoil the shirt though, just be aware of you like slim fit.
Delivered quickly! Looks great!
I sent this to my son for Christmas, and it was delivered quickly and it looks great on him. I would recommend ordering from Patagonia online. It was a great way to purchase a gift for an out of town family member with the possibility that it could easily be exchanged if necessary.
Warm, comfortable shirt
A great shirt for relaxing or outdoor activities where you need a little room to move. The fit is definitely "relaxed" in the body. I'm 6'3", 175 and it's a little too roomy for me but the sleeves are just right. If the sleeves were slightly longer I definitely would have purchased a medium.
It’s just so good for me
The fit of this flannel is the best I’ve ever found. The construction is so solid. The weight is excellent, never too thick or too thin. I just can’t say enough for this flannel because it really has no flaws. Definitely good for guys who don’t have big guts, but perfect for the average guy.
Great shirt! Runs slightly large.
Great flannel shirt for cooler temps or for layering. Looks great. I will say that the relaxed fit is a little loose. I'm 5'10"/144lbs and fit either a XS or an S. The XS is a little short and very fitted. I wear the S if I'm going to be moving around a bunch - meaning the shirt is more likely to ride up.
short arms, fat body
Dear Patagonia, I know I'm a beanpole (6'5", 200) but all your tops, including this shirt, are so big in the body and short in the arms. The last 2 XL ski jackets I've had have been garbage bags! any way we could swap a couple inches from the girth for the arms? Thanks!
Hi there, thanks for taking the time to provide this feedback! It's truly crucial to improving products and sizing for future seasons. We'll pass this along to our design crew!
Needed a new shirt...
And decided on this one. It's perfect for work, going out on the town, weekend projects, you name it.
