Protect the ocean so it can protect us
Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

Overall, this is a great pack. Nice and narrow for twisting on a bike, good support and its well padded. The one thing that is disappointing is the lack of internal pockets for compartmentalizing, bike repair, and other equipment, like first aid... Theres only really pockets for sunglasses, one on the hip belt and the main compartment. The main com... Read Morepartment gets filled up and becomes jumbled without the ability to divide things up. Also, though I love Patagonia stuff, the branding is a little intense down the back. A slightly less prominent logo would be fine with me.
This is my first dedicated mountain biking pack, and I really like it. There's enough room for a full day adventure, but it still fits snugly onto my back and doesn't shift around while I'm riding. The hydration system is great. I like the pack so much that I'm planning on using it for summer hiking as well.
I bought this pack specifically for mountain bike riding. I was splitting my other pack between hiking and biking but it was larger, heavier and the weight was too low and challenging for my low back. This new pack is more narrow and forms to my back well and the balance of weight is more centered and comfortably distributed. I was a little disappo... Agree it's got a hydration bladder support problem
Bought two of these - L for myself and S for another person. Used it as a light travel pack for a few weeks during a European travel adventure - hiking, walking, etc. - but always intended to use it as a hydration back for MTB, which is its current use now. Have used it countless times at this point.
A previous poster comments that the pack "... Read Morecollapses" when the hydration bladder is used. This is a true statement. Even carrying the pack by it's strap/handle (at the top of pack) when lightly loaded you have this issue, which isn't so much a problem in that scenario since it's not being worn as a backpack. When it IS worn as a backpack with more significant contents and/or hydration, it fits strange and doesn't feel that secure or connected to you. It's seems that the hydration bladder hanger is not stitched to the top, back most edge of the pack and is forced to collapse with any weight. Not sure why it droops so much, but it could use some reinforcement and/or more supportive design structure.
We will probably just live with this situation b/c it's not worth the hassle to return them. The pack is well made, but not well designed especially for any amount of weight or hydration system.
PS - the hydration bladder and hose/bite valve design are excellent!
Good quality backpack for mountain biking, road biking, and hiking.
Slim and tall design stay out of the way. Fabric sheds dirt easily after falls. Load bearing shoulder straps and waist belt carry lots of stuff and 2 L of water with comfort.
I would propose 3 changes: 1) Add a couple mesh hanging pockets in the main compartment because gravity ... Read Morepulls everything to the bottom of the compartment feeling disorganized and can also press against the hydration hose connection point in the adjacent compartment causing a kink. 2) Use the sternum strap clip with the integrated whistle - I use this as a NICA coach and it would be nice to have an emergency signaling device built in. 3) Have the option to use the side compression straps to go across the whole pack to compress the pack - it would change the clean lines, but a tighter load would be worth it.
Some small nits, overall I really like it.
I got the L/XL because my husband was mainly going to be using it, and I planned only a little use. I now am looking at getting the S/M for myself due to my size because we both need one! It's an amazing on the go pack! The hydration unit is perfect, and easy to use! Gives great space along with securing so good to the body while running, it d... Read Moreoes not bother me at all. It also has these great little hip pockets on the hip belt to hold chapstick, sunscreen, or your phone so nicely with easy access without stopping your run!
This 20L pack fits so mutch (laptop, book, notebook, cabels, gym stuff, bottle and u still have room to spare). The fit is very comfy and sturdy. (I use the waterpocket to store my laptop and books when used as everydaybag.)
I've been using this pack for a couple of months now in a very urban environment. It's comfortable to wear for long stretches of time, and the hydration bladder stays put and comfortable even if the pack is very loaded. One can easily store large items and gear like an Abus bike lock on the main pocket plus layers, tire patch kit, etc. on... Read More the top pocket. I also really like the hip pocket location and functionality. There are webbing loops on the shoulder straps that I find myself using a lot too. I do wish it had some way of storing a bike lock or something on the outside.
I'm looking for a new hydration pack, and I had high hopes that the simple design and features of this one would work well for me. And while the everything seems nicely made and the quality one expects from Patagonia, the overall design is a big fail. The bag is great empty, and may work with gear stowed in the main compartment, but put water ... Read Morein the bladder and hang it from the clip in the bladder compartment, and the whole top of the pack collapses, folds over on itself, and rubs uncomfortably on my back between my shoulders. Will be returning this bag.
Hey Shannon, thanks for the review. We're sorry to hear that it ultimately did not work out with this pack. The collapsing you mentioned sounds odd, we're wondering if your straps have proper tension. The bag was definitely designed to stow more than just the hydration pack, so that could be part of the issue. Maybe something like our [Slope Runner Endurance Vest](https://www.patagonia.com/product/slope-runner-endurance-trail-running-vest/49515.html?dwvar_49515_color=SPRB&cgid=luggage) would be better suited for your needs.
