Protect the ocean so it can protect us
Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

Great pair of shorts for all outdoor activities. Light enough to not get too hot, tough enough to not get torn on brambles and thorns. My second pair and the elastic waistband is still holding strong after 2 years of use.
With no way to make them tighter than the provided elastic if you're between sizes I would consider sizing down. I found my size is constantly sliding down when wearing a hip pack/waist belt. nice stuff
fits great, nice material and good price (on sale) :)
The shorts are just what I was looking for. Super comfortable and can be used for most of my casual living needs. Easy on and stays on without any buttons/or closures. Supper easy to wash and quick to dry.
While I really liked the material and the functionality of this short. I found it to not fit people with a higher hip. The crouch length was to short and therefore was uncomfortable front and back. Disappointing for I really liked the layout of the short. Had to reluctantly return them.
Hi Bob! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear about the disapointment with the fit. We greatly appreciate this feedback and we'll share this with our design team to keep in mind for future seasons.

Pockets Are Genius
Yeah you can't put your hands in them, but they wont bulge like normal pockets.
The fabric is a bit stretchy and is very comfortable.
Great Fit & Good Stretch for long rides, They work well w my knee pads & are super comfortable! Love the Fabric as well, this is my 1st pair of Patagonia Bike shorts (got these and the Dirt Roamer's) and I am hooked!
Hubs loved them. Was worried about pocket placement but found he liked better than other biking shorts. A little big and no belt loop but otherwise he loved them!
These mountain biking shorts shred. They are perfect for long days in the saddle and handle sweat, rain, dirt well. They're comfortable on the bike and on the way to and from the trail.
Hi Diego! Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We're really sorry to hear the shorts ripped after a small fall. We understand the disapointment in the quality, and we definitely want to assist you with a repair or return so we've reached out to you directly.

Good seconde bike short
Little more basis with less pockets than the other one but that makes it perfect on the bike pockets at the sides ar the best
Fit is exactly what I was looking for. Lots of reviews saying they run really small, but I disagree. The fit is a little slimmer than some MTB shorts, so if you like them baggy and wear a chamois underneath, maybe size up one. Super comfortable and light.
The fabric and fit on these shorts are great. The pockets are in a good spot for biking, and the zipper is awesome. The waistband sorta stretches throughout my rides so i have to stop and pull them up sometimes. But overall super happy with these shorts, they are my top choice of the other MTB shorts i have.
Some of the best lightweight MTB shorts out there.
The material is stretchy, the waistband elasticated & the slanted zipped thigh pockets are perfectly positioned for smartphone, theres nothing to fault them particularly when connected to a padded liner with the integrated tabs.
I highly recommend them as my go-to favorite summer MTB shorts.

The first thing I noticed about these shorts was how incredibly light weight they are, much lighter than my previous bike shorts, despite being over 1" longer. I also use the Dirt Roamer shorts. I do like the fit and weight of these better. The phone pocket is perfect size and location. I've been using the shorts for a couple of weeks, and while I initially had some reservations about the pocket position and type of material, I'm now really enjoying them. Having the pockets lower down I think puts less stress on the pocket inner material when carrying things like keys - I've often ended up having to repair pocket inners when they're in the normal location. One side effect of lower pockets is that the contents can swing about slightly when walking - not a problem if you keep the contents to a minimum. I keep my phone front left, keys front right, and my wallet in the rear pocket, which works well.
The material initially felt a little crinkly, but after a couple of wash cycles and almost daily use the shorts now feel much softer - nice and cool when riding in heat.
Material and fit are great. They stay in place, are light and stretchy. Material has nice traction on the seat, no crotch catch or material folding. I have several pair of these shorts. I use them for long bike rides, 30-80 miles. They are great.
The seams are moved away from the seat area, no chafing.
And the pockets are moved to the side, so nothing falls out, with easy access while on the bike.
Not padded, but they work great for me.
I’ve used them for sport climbing, and the 4 way stretch fabric is great for any movement.
The fit is perfect, the style is great, and amazing quality as always.
Will buy another color at some point.
This is my 3rd pair. I have purchased one new pair every season. These are the best MTB shorts I have every worn. This will be the only one I will wear as long as they keep making them. Super durable and light eight
For the last six years I've been riding with Patagonia Quandary shorts, including two bike trips across the U.S.. Great for MTB/Gravel. Pretty good for casual wear with a few quirks - no belt loops and strange pocket setups that are hard to get larger phones in and out of. Would buy again however.
I have a lot of Patagonia clothes and all my trousers are 32s and they all fit perfectly, I've therefore chosen a 32 in this one as well and it runs small had to switch to a 33 that fits perfectly. Otherwise, like all Patagonia products absolutely excellent product especially like that it is so cooling.
Patagonia 32 is usually spot on for me but I found these kind of too snug, however the material is so flexible I can get away with this size. Such a versatile short for cycling, swimming and wearing about pretty much anywhere.
Love the shorts and they are great for mountain biking - The material and stretch are great for long rides and the pockets are a nice addition as well.
Only part I wish was better is the ability to tighten the waste. If these had belt loops or a built in belt, they would definitely be 5/5 stars.
I have a buddy that kept telling me these were the best Mountain Bike shorts he had ever owned. But it took me 2 years to try them and I love em. Light and stretchy, never binding. Stretchy
Really happy with these shorts. Tue first one I ordered was a 36 and the second one was a 34. The 36 did start to slide down my bib a few times and the 34 fit a bit snug. I may be in between sizes but still decided to keep the 34. I am 61 225 with thicker legs.
Great all around MTB shorts. I liked my first pair so much I bought a second. The length is great - they cover my entire upper leg when riding - and the material is perfect. Theyve withstood multiple rides a week, plenty of branches, and a few falls!
Very comfortable shorts- perfect fit for me for cross country biking and just knocking about in as I am an athletic but chunky build. I know that Patagonia sizing XL regular fits me very well and that the garments will allow a good range of movement without being too baggy.
Love them. The back left pocket is a game changer.
The back left pocket is most unique. No longer will my wallet or phone sit directly beneath my cheek butt and eventually cause discomfort (especially while driving). I cant even notice my phone or wallet when Im sitting.

I was afraid the lack of belt or cinching strap would allow these shorts to fall. So far with a phone and wallet, these shorts stay put. They should put this much elasticity in the waists of all their shorts, and perhaps add a cinching system just in case one loads up the shorts with other stuff.
So yeah. Very stylish and functional.
I had thought these were kind of cheap looking, and wasn't a fan of the elastic waist in the pics, but needed some shorts and spotted these on sale. Only thing is that i wish they were a little more durable, i ripped a small hole on my 3rd ride.
I like the shorts, good fit, pockets nice and in a efficient position, only problem is the material, I fell down today, a little one and the shorts tear a part big time, the material is very delicate, not the best for a mtb shorts.
The Landfarer Short is the best pair of shorts that Patagonia has made for MTB yet. The pocket layout is perfect too; the snap pocket is the perfect size and location for a phone to be secure and out-of-the-way but accessible, and the zippered pockets are great for snacks, small tools, or a couple cards and some cash. A fit problem I've had with Patagonia bottoms in the past (that there isn't enough room in the rump) is not present in the Landfarers at all. I was able to order my exact waist size and have plenty of room in the seat. My only gripe is that the minimal elastic waistband is somewhat susceptible to falling down, as it isn't super secure. But I've been pleased with the snap-in integration with bibs and liners, and have even been able to make that integration work with non-Patagonia bibs. That pretty much eradicates the falling-drawers issue, and cancels out any complaints I might have. Just stopped to write this 5-star review on my way to pick up another pair.
These bike shorts are well made, light, tough and highly visible in the orange color. Perfect for year round biking, running and walking in Florida. Bought a second pair.
The size I ordered was too small and I requested an exchange for a larger size. As for the shorts, the pockets are funky and useless. Not sure what the designers were thinking when they sketched this out.
Was a bit worried about the minimalist fabric and build. But so far have performed very well. Super comfy, too. I'm a 32 waist, these fit perfectly and don't slip despite lack of belt. Id totally buy these again. Ive worn them a few times and they have just the right amount of stretch while still feeling durable enough to hold up over time. Love em so far.
Love the pockets and the feel of the shorts, but the lack of tightening or fastening at the waist is the only knock on them. The large fits me perfect, but the waist feels a touch light.
