I had a North Face Thermoball. The Nano Puff is hands down a better jacket. Better zipper and better quality. Plus you get Patagonia pride of ownership.
I have a different color for each: casual, hiking and biking. Size runs true, and sleeves fit my long arms. Care is simple: throw in the laundry, dries quickly on a hanger.
Without a doubt the best jacket in this style. Zippers are easy and very useful. Almost unlimited choice of color.
Have puff vest as next purchase from Patagonia.
Combines the warmth of other jackets with the water resistance of a raincoat. There is no stretch in the fabric, so it is important to order the correct size.
I wouldn't shop anywhere else for Patagonia except direct. Good fit, super warm, super light, windproof, probably waterproof too. Nano puff jacket does Not Breathe at all. Liner is like vinyl. Not for high output.
Living in long beach, Ca this jacket has been perfect. Its been cold in the morning and tolerable in the afternoon, so this jacket had been great. It is a tad big, Im 5 9 and 170lbs, I bought a large. I am fairly fit\muscular with long arms. I would not recommend a medium to someone with a similar build. Great product, would buy again.
It is the perfect all around jacket. Light yet warm. Great on its own and great as a layer. If you need to to be cooler, unzip it. Ripstop is thick enough for great durability but not overkill. Looks great! What more could you want.
I live in Mammoth Lakes and for the past 2 years this is my daily for everything from hard work to summits and it's still perfect for when Im not pushing my luck in the mountains. If you want the best, most durable and best fitting down jacket look no further.

This was a replacement purchase of same style but different color and size. I purchased with same style vest, in blue. The combination is great for changing weather patterns.
The perfect jacket for a chill or a breezy day. It also keeps you warm under another jacket if it's really cold outside. I have bought this for so many friends and family. They all say the same thing, they have worn it everyday since receiving it!!
The number one reason I buy Patagonia jackets is FIT. I have long arms and I hate it when buying long sleeves and they feel short on my arms. Patagonia jackets allow me to buy a jacket that fits in the body and sleeve length, this jacket is also light weight, folds up very small in a day pack, and fits the warmth I need when its time to put it on.
Based on the chart, I originally ordered the XL. It was too baggy. Your team delightfully handled the exchange and even rushed the free delivery. The large fits perfectly, even my XL arm lenghth.
I have several jackets for colder conditions but have been needing something lighter but still reasonably warm for cool but not cold days. This jacket did well in cold weather. It was around 35 degrees and this jacket was able to keep me warm. I also like that it is not too bulky. The fit is true to size. Its an overall great jacket. I am happy with my purchase.
Wore it a little and decided to return it for the "sweater" version which is heavier and warmer-it was hard for me to tell on the website how warm the Nano would be, so that is the reason for three stars. Design and construction are good.
The construction quality is very good (hence a 2 star review and not 1), but the fit is very strange. The waist and hip areas are very tight. Shoulders and sleeve length are good.

Patagonia continues to go to more slim, form fitting designs. This is really a disappointment as the older fits from Patagonia were more relaxed, focusing more on range of motion - as one wants in outdoor clothing. Please stop making only items with slim fit, "fashionable" cuts. Go back to your roots of making garments in more relaxed fit cuts that allow one a full range of motion.
Great product and good price. Excellent return and exchange service.
The color choices are limited for the right size when it was 40% off twice a year.
Be prepared to pay full price for desired color and size.
Should have bought it earlier.
I live in Minnesota and this jacket keeps me plenty warm all winter while allowing for maximum movement. The combination of warmth, comfort and style sets it apart.
Absolutely Love it. Light, warm, windproof, I have no complaints. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Perfect for this Mid-Westerner. It is the most comfortable coat I've ever had. Styling is spot on. When it came time to get a new jacket, I decided to take the plunge and purchase a Patagonia. Read Moreral loops of pulls in the stitching on the arms and two places where a loose thread an inch long has broken free. This is so disappointing as my main reason for purchasing Patagonia was durability. I was hoping this jacket would look good longer than one month. A quick search on the Internet shows this is not an isolated incident. I'll contact the outdoors store from which is was purchased and hopefully Patagonia will make good on a replacement or a refund. My first Patagonia purchase may well be my last.

This jacket is true to size. It is light and very warm. The blue color looks nice and goes with many other clothes. I use it for work and can pack it in my bag with ease.
Just what I was looking for. Slim fit, light weight, nice looking, practical for every day wear in just about all moderate weather conditions. Patagonia quality one would expect.
Functionality of the jacket is fabulous. I rated it a little low as I ordered the same size as my current jacket and found the new one to be slightly smaller. I will not be able to layer as much with the new jacket.
Ive worn this jacket only twice before I noticed a seam on the front of the jacket started coming apart. I don't wear this Jacket doing any strenuous activity so I am very upset about it already falling apart based on the price.
Hey Tegan, thanks for the review. We're sorry to hear about the issues you've run into with your Nano Puff jacket. If you mean that some of the baffle threads are coming loose, this is a known issue with our Nano Puffs. It should not affect the performance of the jacket, and you can find a tutorial on how to fix the issue [here](https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+a+Loop+of+Loose+Stitching+in+a+Patagonia+Nano+Puff+%C2%AE+Jacket/19434). If the issue is more widespread than a couple loose threads, feel free to reach out to customer service and we'd be happy to set you up with a warranty evaluation.
I used the Fit Calculator to find an appropriate size. I was guided into a 3XL. This size was appropriate through the shoulders yet voluminous through the midsection. So I downsized to the 2XL. I purchased the brown in XL for 205 lb hubby. He looks great. Perfect fit. The jacket is warm without being bulky. Delivered within a reasonable time frame.
This is my husband's second black Nano Puff jacket. He finally wore out his first black one. He has this jacket in several other colors, too. The beauty is how warm it is for how light and airy it is. Can't beat it, and it washes beautifully.
I got this for an additional layer for when I ski. When I take the kids to the mountain, I don't move as much and I get colder. This jacket solved that problem. I also love it for around town when it isn't too cold. I can also see tossing this in a pack when heading out on a hike or longer excursion.
I was very surprised how lightweight this jacket was and very impressed with its warmth to weight ratio. I can't really speak to its durability yet but I do like that it's something that you can have repaired vs thrown out. It's also nice to see a company that puts our environment first. Very happy with my purchase
The Nano Puff is a great peice of gear. I typically wear a medium in Patagonia items (Synchillas, Pack-in Jacket, Wool Sweaters), but I had to size-up for the Nano-puff... the medium was just a little too tight on me. Still highly recommend.
This last purchase was to get the rest of my family their own. I have had mine for 5 years or so and it is still getting daily use and lives in my day pack. I am notoriously hard on gear so the jacket wears well if it has lasted this long. It's the perfect layer to start my predawn days worn under my Iron Forge Chore Jacket or Torentshell. And... excellent for using as outer layer in moderate but chilly weather, as under heavier layer in cold weather & around the house if the house feels chilly.
Just what the Dr. ordered! Very light weight and just the right amount of warmth. Excellent as a 2nd layer on cold days and easily an outer layer on warmer days. Plenty of room so range of motion is not impacted.
I love this jacket and have worn it for years. My only critique is that the shell fabric is so thin that it punctures easily. I hike through the woods quite a bit and unfortunately the understory has perforated my jacket in several places. I have sewn it many times, but now I have so many tears it is beyond repair. Any advice?

The fit is right , provides for easy movement and warm but not bulky
Love that it's so lightweight yet warm. Perfect with layers for winter photography which involves a lot of standing in cold weather. An inside pocket would have been nice.
Thank you for submitting this review, Sandy. Just to clarify, the jacket does have an inner breast pocket that can be used to stash keys, ID, cash or cards, or to self-stash the jacket. It sounds like you would also like to see inner pockets at the hand level. We will share this feedback with our design team. Cheers!

nice, light weight but decent warmth
Really like it, I especially like the hem drawstring to allow for cinching the bottom.
This jacket is really warm for its weight. I wear it from 20 to 50s. I also like it colder fwiw. It's a little tight but I plan on losing weight in 2023 :)
I was surprised at how warm this jacket kept me, given how lightweight it is. I'll wear it over just a t-shirt, or over a fleece or hoody. The XXL was cut too close at the shoulder area/ shoulder pits. I wear a 17x35 shirt. The arm length was good, girth good, and length okay. My son and wife love their Nanos. My wife really likes hers, and I was going to be part of the Nano wave in the family.

Down here on the Gulfcoast we seldom need outerwear that is real heavy. So, the Nano Puff Jacket is perfect for almost all of our cold weather. Got it because I needed to add another warm jacket to the rotation. I live in the PNW and threw it on with a normal long sleeve when it was about 40 degrees outside. It did a great job of stopping the wind but I definitely got cold.

I simply love the look and year-round versatility of this jacket! The warmth from such a thin jacket is impressive. It packs into its own pocket, so it can go anywhere. I expected better breathability hence the 4 star review. However this is nitpicking on a great product.

I bought this jacket for my brother for Christmas. He is 5'11', and 190 lbs, the large size was perfect for him. He usually wears the jacket only with a t-shirt under in 30 degree weather, and he mentioned he is warm. The quality of this jacket is superb.
I bought this for my husband for Christmas and he loves it! I will now be purchasing the hooded one for him for his birthday. Amazingly warm yet super lightweight. Very happy with this product.

I use this coat for everything. It is light weight and very warm. Easy to move in and very comfortable and soft on the inside. Plus it's machine washable. I hang it dry. It's kept its shape and size. I only wish that Patagonia carried more items in 3X. oh well, their loss.

Great jacket. I'm 5'9, not a thin frame. I went with the large and its perfect with or without an old school synchilla baselayer. Sheds light water and protects from the wind. Incredibly warm. I also like the width of the stretchy arm cuffs compared to previous years. The little extra room makes a big difference.
