Why do you work for Patagonia?
Well, where else could I work? This is the coolest place an outdoors lover could ever work. Patagonia rocks. On the first day of my career in Patagonia, I woke up with a big smile on my face, and that smile is still there, every day I go to work. I believe that you should find a place that fits with your values and where you can share your passion. That's why I work for Patagonia, because it feels like a big family.
What are you passionate about?
I'm passionate about life, and I try to live with as much intensity as I can. That's probably why I spend most of my time having adventures in the mountains. I love deep powder on winter days, as much I love to ski on ‘firn’ at the end of the season, I love to spend days at a crag, trying hard routes as much as I love climbing in the mountains.
What has been your biggest adventure?
Probably the first route I opened on Pizzo d'Uccello a couple of years ago. My girlfriend Christine and I found the wall, found the line and we climbed! On the first pitches, I was a bit unsure and scared but then I saw things going in the right way and everything continued smoothly. I learned a lot from that experience. I learned that a guy with a drill in his hands is really dangerous. With a drill, you can place bolts everywhere and go up wherever you want. I learned to adopt an ethical approach and place bolts only where they are really needed.
What skills and traits help you to thrive at Patagonia?
You need to be in love with the outdoors and you need to love our planet a lot. You also need to be a dreamer.
