Great but...
The shirt is fantastic, but it has the same issue that all Patagonia shirts have had for awhile: the waist-high tag is a pain. It irritates my skin if it's not cut off and it's incredibly difficult to remove them completely. I did manage to get the tag off without creating any new holes, so after much effort the shirt is now awesome.

Excellent fit, perfect for spring/fall temperatures
I appreciate the "fit" of slim fitting Patagonia clothing; it's always spot on for me! This shirt is a great go to for 30-50° days on the trail.
I really liked this t-shirt which I used for hiking, and find the long sleeves very convenient. It is also comfortable and very lightweight, and found it agreeable to wear with both warm and cold weather. However, it is very fragile, and it started to get holes after only a few hikes, so I would not recommend it.

Great fabric, great fit, great colors
I wear this top for sun protection. If there's any breeze, it's as cool as bare skin. I haven't experienced any chafing wearing a pack. And I impressed my dermatologist both by the color and my obvious compliance with sun protection protocol.
I've spent a ton of time trying to find the right layers for riding across a wide spectrum of temperatures. This years product is different than the same product I bought before. It is a little smaller and it is not as soft. I'm not sure why there is a difference but I am disappointed.
I'm 5'8'' 170lbs and bought the medium and it fits great. The model photos of someone 6'1'' or whatever made me concerned it be too big, but not so. Very lightweight, thin, but high quality. So far have 0 complaints.
The material is silk-like and you almost forget youre wearing it. I like to wear it under t-shirts and polos for a little extra warmth on cool days. I just wish there were more color options. There used to be a light heather color that I could pull off wearing under dress shirts. I love all Patagonias base layers.
This thing is so light, I didn't expect anything at all from it. However, as a base layer, it felt great and performed flawlessly. Early cool morning with a t-shirt on top, it kept me perfectly warm. Once the sun was out and warming up, it was still entirely comfortable. It was great for finishing this weekends half marathon. Two thumbs up!
I love everything about this shirt except the fact that it was wrapped in plastic. The exterior packaging was great (renewable material) but then the shirt was wrapped in plastic inside.

I like the very light weight aspect the fit and clean look and none underware look works well for me.
The previous version of this shirt had thumb loops that kept the sleeves from riding up. Not sure why they removed them, but it was a not a good idea. The way the sleeves attach to the shoulders has also changed and not for the better. Come on Patagonia, you can do better than that.

Best weight to warmth functionality.
The capilene lightweight base layer is wearable year around for daily use.
Comfortable and stylish. I usually wear L in Patagonia shirts and prder those in XL, because they tend to shrink about 1 size when washing. So size up and youll have the best shirt on earth.
I love the Capilene series, especially the lightweight. I am very sensitive to temp changes and fin this product perfect for the end of summer and whole of fall. But what bothers me with this Tee and other Patagonia long and short sleeve tees is the annoying scratchy and stinging care label inside. I wonder why they dont do anything about it. The p... Excellent for managing body temp.
Does an excellent job of both sun protection and cooling. Wore it first time for a 24 hour event that was in the 90's during day. Did an excellent job of managing body temperature and wicking away perspiration. I typically wear XL, but ordered XXL as I wanted something loose fitting. Good choice for me to order the larger size. Fits perfect.
Awesome Lightweight Material - Extremely Low Durability
I purchased this shirt in grey, along with the short sleeved model in blue. I them in preparation for an adventure trip to Hawaii and wanted something lightweight and cooling for the heat / humidity of Hawaii.
The material feels great and you can really tell it's great for keeping you cool and the sun off your skin.

I have never machine washed this shirt (hand wash and air dry only). I have started the return process and Patagonia has been great to deal with. I have photos of the shirt as well - but I cannot post them here.

I purchased this item and a similar trail shirt. This one has a great fit (slim) for the size and perfectly fits my body type of large shoulders and a medium waist. I came back to buy more and then there were none.....I can't keep up with the capilene; never enough colors and it's not even the height of summer and sold out.
Great shirt but definitley small in sleeve length and overall length. For reference I am about 5' 7", 140 lbs and normally wear a childrens xxl/men's XS. This shirt definitley fits more like a childrens xxl.
I use this for commuting on my bike, 14 miles per day. Tough inclines make a hot ride sweaty and regular bike jerseys didnt help. This is perfect- wicks and evaporates quickly and keeps me feeling cool. Very comfortable
This shirt is awesome, and works exactly as advertised---it's a great sun cover for sunny days outside and it works well in warm temperatures, and it's also a perfect layer piece for mountain biking or running (or any cool-weather exercise, really).
I bought this and a Tropic Comfort hoody at basically the same time.
The Tropic Comfort feels cooler, and the thumb-loops / hood make that substantially more versatile.
They're both great pieces of kit, but if I had to give up one forever, I'd be keeping the Tropic Comfort.
2020 My father and I got two of these shirts. Super comfy and wears extremely well at the beach, evening with friends, working in the yard or even traveling / lounging.

Great product, but Patagonia sizes aren't perfect for me. Most Nordic brands size S or M usually fit me (tall and slim) perfect. I guess American size small persons are shorter and much wider than I am.

This has quickly become one of my favourite tops for early spring running. It is lightweight yet warm enough for slightly chilly days. The loose fit, with soft material, is perfect for comfort.
Fit and fabric fine, but returned for credit since the illustration shows black piping details at shoulders, elbows, and sleeves, while these details are, in fact, monochrome grey so not as illustrated. Disappointing.

Beautiful shirt that fits like a nice breeze on you body. you don't feel it, but is keep you both warm and cool. wear it casually, wear it as a running shirt, great for long run because it is light!
Loved this. Even though it was a bit smaller than expected, it is so light and comfortably warm that I decided to not change it for a bigger size. It's great as an undergarment for chilly days or as long sleeve running shirt.

I wear it hiking, cycling, running and on every active sport (ultimate, volleyball etc). I love its design, I got the blue and it is really good looking and minimal. For my body type it runs a little short on the sleeves but other than that it is perfect.
In temps above 25C every high output activity (especially running) makes you sweaty but even soaked the tee dries really quickly! Once I even used it in a river hike and I literaly swam with it but ther was no need for a second t-shirt. In the 18-20C range if you are moving enough, it is a great base layer, and on the colder days you can always layer up using it as base.
Another great feature is that when I managed to rip a hole in the back (bike fall on bush) and after that I got lazy to fix it for quite a while, the fabric held perfectly and the hole didn't get any bigger.
The only downside I have experienced is that the odor control isn't really working. It is still better than a cotton t-shirt but on a 3day 100km hike it didn't last more than a day and I find it can't take more than two straight workouts before in desperate need for a wash.
Far too tight a fit for anything other than a technical base layer, new material catches, no where near as good as the the looser fitting, silky, better wearing 2018 version. If you can find any of the old version I'll take 2 black, 2 blue and 2 grey.
This fit perfectly. Usually a great discrepancy in fit even among the same garments. Have a grey shirt and that is too large but same size as this shirt
I do outdoor and wildlife photography and Patagonia is my go to brand.
Have all the weights for different seasons.
They dry fast and feel great next to skin.

Light and breathable!
This long sleeve is a great light base layer for any activity. Very light and breathable so you wont overheat. As a 510 male with long arms, the sleeves were just a tad on the shorter side than I like, but thats due to my longer than normal arms. Otherwise, I love it!

good fit but not great material
this is the best fitting of all capilene cool versions but I have one from few years back which feel like silk and the new ones feel totally different and not in a good way, weight feels heavier too and i notice slight pilling. The material is a step down from the older gen.
I bought two of these shirts for my husband who works outside. They work great for sun protection and keeping him cool. The materials is very soft and lightweight. Only concern is that it seems like it might snag easily - But so far so good!
The material is extremely lightweight and comfortable against the skin. It offers good sun protection without overheating. I prefer the fit of this line vs. the other capilene cool.
I first bought the "Capilene Lightweight Baselayer" the year before they discontinued it. It was the best hiking shirt I've ever owned - super lightweight/cool fabric that protects from the sun. The fit was also perfect with slightly longer sleeves to accommodate arm movement without pulling up (along with thumb loops if needed).
The... Read More current design has the same great/cool fabric, but the fit changed. I comfortably wore a small size before, but now even the sleeves on the medium are marginally too short (fine when walking, but too short to bike or climb). To make matters worse, the thumb loops also disappeared.
Overall, I just really wish Patagonia would revert to the old style, or add the "baselayer" option/fit to the product line. These are easily the best long sleeve cool hiking shirts out there, but I'm sad that I can no longer buy them if I wear out my old one.
I've ordered these shirts in the past and was completely satisfied. I recently purchase of 3 and the workmanship is very inconsistent and not comfortable. Perfect in 40 to 90 degree weather. Considered baselayer, I wear it as outerwear so bought it in size XXL for a looser fit. I bought two of these initially to fit as baselayer. Loved it so much I bought two more in XXL. Wore it for two weeks in Switzerland and France lasr week. No other top needed!

Capilene is cool
I love this shirt(.) I wear one daily for work under my scrubs and it is as good on 100 degree days as it is on 32 degree days. Also excellent fly fishing or at the beach for sun protection. I’m 5’10”, 185-size L fits perfectly.
Nice shirt. Runs a little baggier than I'd expect for a patagonia tech shirt, but not bad. Feels like quality but is very lightweight, great for layering.
I live in a desert climate with 90 to 100 deg summer temps and lots of sun. This shirt is the best sun protection/cooling combo run shirt I own, and now I own several. 6’ 175 size medium for Patagonia shirts like this described by Patagonia as regular fit where I otherwise where a large in the shirts listed as slim fit
Very good sun shirt. I have bought a number of these in different colors. Very cool to wear in high heat and sun. The fabric feels smooth. These are great shirts that i wear all the time, however the fabric is not as durable as the normal capilene daily (which is nearly indestructible). They are extremely lightweight, keep the cool, when it hot, and texturally feel great!

Didn’t particularly care for the fit or the feel. I have several daily wear short sleeve capilene cool shirts and really like them, by the LS shirt wasn’t the same fit (tighter) and didn’t have the same feel.

Poison Oak Slayer
Thank God for this shirt. I was so happy to feel how light and breathable this is. I will most definitely buy a few more to combat the poison oak here in the Bay Area. Even of a 80+ degree day I feel this is going to be a great shirt for tight trail riding.
Extremely soft and comfortable and lighter weight than the competition. Didn’t notice it at all on 1.5 hour runs. Have yet to test it on longer efforts. It dries faster than anything I’ve ever worn and helps me stay cool as I tend to run pretty warm. Love this shirt! I am 6’0” 175lbs and medium is perfect.
Ultralight weight shirt with excellent odor control. hiked with the short sleeved version of this last year for 10 days in the Alps with only occasional washings in a sink.
It never smelled and always dried before morning.
