Protect the ocean so it can protect us

Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

About Our Store

As our second store in the greater Boston area, Cambridge is the place we came to gather students, thinkers and environmentally focused minds to use business for the betterment of the planet. Landing a location a three-minute walk from Harvard Square was no happy accident, and we intend to get to work here, and to make history with the folks of Massachusetts and those on this storied strip of Brattle Street. And there’s lots of work to do. But part of protecting our home planet is continuing to nurture a love for being in the wild. In this part of the world, that means an emphasis on skiing and snowboarding during the winter, and hiking, running and beaching it in the summer—and here in Cambridge we carry equipment and garments for it all (but they don’t guarantee access into the Harvard Club).

Grants, Product Donations and Partnerships
Through our Retail Grants Program, our stores help support groups in their backyards. If you’re a qualifying nonprofit group with bold, direct-action agendas and a commitment to long-term change, learn how to apply for a grant from your local Patagonia retail store.
Our retail product donation program can help environmental and community-based organizations with fundraising or engagement efforts.
There are many other ways we can support local nonprofits, from offering tabling space in our stores to volunteering with your organization to amplifying initiatives on social media. If you don’t see what you’re looking for above, give us a call to chat about potential partnerships.
And for our community members who aren’t affiliated with a group but want to make a difference, we invite you to meet the grantees for this store and get involved!
