I was in need of a rain jacket and it was a toss up between this parka and the regular Torrentshell. I ended up going with the parka because I liked the length and the lack of a visible logo. Read Moreoften up with some time and wear. I wore it with a short sleeve shirt underneath and I probably wouldn't do that again because it was not the most comfortable next-to-skin feel. The fit is really nice and flattering. I am 5'7", 165lbs and purchased the large, an XL probably would've worked too. The hood is useful because you could synch it in a way to keep it out of your face. I love the two-way zip and internal chest pocket. I did find that I was missing some of the features that come on the Torrentshell jacket, like the pit zips and adjustable cuffs. If this parka came with those features, it would be a 10/10 for me. I also wish this came in more fun colors, like a true red or bright emerald green would be so nice; I ended up just going with black.
I used to have an older version of this longer rain coat and loved it. I traded two in for this new one and love the sturdyness and it seems like it will hold up better.
i love this raincoat so much that i have two in the same cream color in two different sizes for my layering needs. it repels water like no other and i love that it covers most of my pants. my partner complains that they dont have this in mens and every time hes out walking the dogs in the rain, his pants are drenched! i usually wear between a mediu... Read Morem and large, but these run a bit smaller through the shoulders, so i got one in L and one in XL. i'm rather short at 5 feet 4, so it covers a lot of my legs and the two way zippers help with movement.
