Protect the ocean so it can protect us
Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

Very Comfortable, Durable Bibs for MTB and Bikepacking
At the advice of a very helpful Patagonia employee and her co-worker on the chat a few weeks ago (thanks again, Tammy!), I decided to purchase these liner bibs and am glad that I did.
I was looking for a pair of bibs for weekly MTB rides and also for a long-distance bike touring and bikepacking trip. Unlike the previous version/style of these bib... Read Mores, they've been meaningfully updated, with an improved chamois that has a slightly denser material and better design for supporting the sit bones, slightly more breathability (no wet diaper feeling), and overall better fit/sizing in the waist and torso (at least in my case). Also, the shoulder straps don't twist or feel uncomfortable during long hours on the saddle - they were barely noticeable in my case.
I'm 6'2", 185lbs, with a 31" waist and the size medium fits perfectly.
I've worn these bibs on a dozen or more MTB rides (2+ hours each ride) and was so impressed with the comfort and breathability, that I decided to wear them exclusively on a 10-day bike tour and bikepacking trip around southern, UT, covering 340 miles with over 24,000 ft climbing/ascent (the route was a variation on the Utah Cliffs Loop developed by the Adventure Cycling Association).
The bibs have been excellent - they're comfortable (some days I was pedaling for nearly 10 hours in the saddle), very breathable (big plus in the desert heat), and after 10 days of washing them in a dry bag, in hotel sinks, and even in hotel laundry rooms, the bibs still look brand new with no signs of wear or tear. I even used Body (Cycle) Glide on the chamois everyday to reduce any chances of chaffing or saddle sores (none to report from these bibs thankfully!), and the bibs were easily cleaned with no stains or loose seams developing.
Another plus of these bibs is that they did not develop much of a funk odor, even after very sweaty day-long pedaling, unlike my friend's much more expensive bibs from a different brand. The single back pocket was useful for holding a 21oz water bottle, light jacket/other layer, or snacks, but I tended to not use it as I like keeping food/gear/weight on the bike and not my back. I also wore these bibs with the Patagonia Dirt Roamer Bike Shorts and appreciated the pass-thru feature of the two zippered leg pockets for putting Lara Bars/other snacks in the bibs' mesh side pockets or to hold my phone and wallet when stopping in a town/city to buy food and resupply for the next segment of the trip. The Patagonia Dirt Roamer Bike Shorts, while also very comfortable, lightweight, and breathable, however, did develop some noticeable pilling/wear in the seat and thigh areas, so I'll likely be contacting Patagonia about a warranty replacement for those shorts, but they otherwise integrate and function very well with the bibs.
Bibs, like saddles, are highly subjective in terms of fit and comfort, but for me these bibs have been excellent - I've tried multiple models of bibs from several brands over the years (e.g., Gore, Zoic) and these, for me, are by far the most comfortable and durable bibs I've owned.
My only suggestions for improving them even more would be to add a quick relief fly so that you don't have to pull down the bib fabric to urinate and to increase the thickness or density of the chamois by another millimeter or two for even more comfort on long-distance, multi-day rides. Otherwise, these bibs are fantastic in my opinion and I'm planning to purchase another pair to have on hand when my current pair wears out (which by all appearances so far, shouldn't be anytime soon).
