Protect the ocean so it can protect us
Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

I bought them for walking my dog in the Oregon winter rain. I’ve only worn them once so far, they stayed dry for the most part. The water starts to sip through on the knees after about an hour in the rain. Since they are not waterproof, I take it they are working as expected. They’re very heavy duty, so you probably won’t wear them on a hot summer ... Read Moreday
Ok, not quite that bad but the legs are yuge. Maybe not if you're 6'4" but in the 29 length they look ridiculous. I love everything else about the pant - super bomber material and great fit lengthwise for us short folk. I have an industrial sewing machine so I altered the legs into a tolerable shape and now like the fit.
I'm 5' 4". Due to the snaps on the cuffs, these pants (short) fit without alteration. Amazing! They are quite heavy, but they are also very rugged. They are fairly wind resistant. They were quite comfortable while at the top of a sailboat mast. I had good access to the tools in the pockets while hanging in a climbing harness. I expec... These pants fit okay. They run a little small. The problem is that the pockets pooch out. If you look closely in the product photo you can see this issue. I returned the pants.
Nice, heavier duty than expected, but tight around the waste
I'd suggest ordering a size up, the pants have a built in belt-like system that'll snug them up. A 29 inch waste fits with other Patagonia pants/shorts, but on these it was too tight even with the belt ting loosened all the way. You could probably even go two sizes bigger than usual on these. Anyway, the "short" version was also... Read More a little long for me (I'm 5'5"). So too tight and too long. I had to return them. However, the material is nice, thicker and heavier duty than I expected so they'd be great in snow or for bushwhacking on a not-too-hot day.
I bought this for my husband in a 33S, following the size guide. It fits everywhere but the seat, which is too tight for free movement when hiking. We bought a size up 34 R (S was not available). That solved the seat problem, but the crotch is too long to be able to lift the knees well. Before I try again, does the S length have a shorter crotch le... Read Morength or just a shorter inseam?
