Liked the color. Great fit. And de extra ventilation zippers are very usefull.
Haven't used it a lot, so do not know how it will hold op in time. But I expect a lot from Patagania based on experience with other products.
I bought this jacket primarily with cycling in mind, I commute daily in all kinds of weather and it does an amazing job of keeping me dry. It packs down really small into the chest pocket so is great for keeping in a bag.

Ive yet to try it with the hood up whilst riding but it looks like it will accommodate a helmet nicely. It can get a bit hot but the underarm zips are a great way to combat this.
I usually go for a medium but after reading other reviews I chanced the small and it was definitely the right choice, it fits perfect bit a medium wouldve been way too big.

Got this as a replacement for a 2 layer gortex piece that didn't hold up so well. Im an older guy and over weight but have been buying Patagonia literally for 40+ years and really wouldn't consider another brand because of the Patagonia quality, functionality, style and most especially the customer service and iron clad warranty. I'm 193cm tall and 73kg so I decided to take size L. Before I checked XL but it was much too bulky for me. L is quite OK in width but unfortunately the sleeves are a little bit too short. 3-5cm longer would be perfect. It looks like the jacket is designed for rather fatter people.
Lovely rain jacket. The pockets are well placed and roomy, the cut is nice and the size is perfect for layering a puffy underneath. Also it looks dope 🤙
I bought this jacket because my previous coat was stolen from my car. I chose this one without much thought but it was really reduced in price and a good colour.
Now I’ve had the jacket a week and I love it so much that I’m actually glad someone stole my old one! It looks great and is comfortable and great in the wind and rain. I am a 100% happy cu... Read Morestomer, thanks x
I replaced another brand L size rain jacket with this Patagonia XL jacket. It fits perfectly with a heavy sweatshirt for warmth, and is also excellent for normal wear in rain and wind.
Patagonia produces high quality clothing and this jacket is overall a good value for money taking into consideration the low environment footprint however the cut is rather large (not close enough to the body)
Everything about this rain jacket services its purpose since I live in Portland Oregon.I hope to wear this for years to come and then pass it on to one of my kids.
Super warm, windproof, and keeps me very dry so far.
Customer service was phenomenal, always nice when you get to talk to someone in person and in a timley matter, and they take their time to assess your needs and to find solutions. Great product. I am 6 feet 2 inches, 178lbs and it fits close. This is a 3 season jacket for me in NC, prob could not layer a sweater or much else underneath. Great for hiking/running - lightweight without bulk in wrong places, zips up high to keep out the wind.
Apparently the orange color isnt the new black in this rain/wind jacket. I got the size and color I needed. I want to be visible while riding my bike or hiking. This color definitely is visible. The material works great keeping the rain and wind off I highly recommend this jacket if you find it on sale.
Typical Patagonia quality. Very well designed. Has preformed very well in the couple of storms I've had the chance to wear it.
Would be nice if the hood could be rolled up like the Torrent shell.
I typically need a LT or XL, but the large fits great. One problem I do have is I have skinny arms/wrists. So there is not enough Velcro on the wrist closures for me to close the wrists up snug. I wish the hood was either detachable or could be stored out of use, however with the long neck of this jacket, it isn't that great for using without ... Read Morethe hood on. I bought this for when I have to work out in the heavy rain and it seems to work pretty good, although I've only gotten to use it once so far. Fabric is pretty comfortable and not too hot.
Its a beautiful high quality rain jacket/shell. Im 6/0 155, and due to my height usually wear a large in shirts and tees, I kinda prefer loose fit however large was too big so went with medium. This works well when wearing technical layers underneath, not so much with a hoodie :)
This jacket is windproof, yet breathable. The sleeve tabs can be adjusted easily with one hand. It is roomy enough to fit over an insulation layer. It kept me dry in the rain
Perfect rain jacket as well as all around top layer. Used it a couple of times in moderate to heavy rain and stayed bone dry without overheating (a problem with other rainwear). Not just for rain, works well as a windbreaker too. I normally get a large in Patagonia, but chose XL this time so I could layer with down or nano puff underneath in colder... Read More conditions. Worked out great, not to restrictive with layers and not to loose when worn alone. I predict this will be my go to jacket for years to come.
I replaced my Arcteryx hardshell with this and the build, waterproof is great however im between sizes at 5'9" 185 . I wish there was a M athletic or a L short option with patagonia (pants to) so I could get coats & pants that fit.

Excellent jacket
5'9" tall and 180 pounds, a size large jacket leaves me plenty of room to layer a fleece or sweater underneath for cold weather. This Patagonia size large is slightly more roomy than the Marmot size large jacket it replaced.
Only wish would be for this Patagonia fabric to be a little less noisy and for a hood that folds into a collar. Ov... Read Moreerall excellent product.
I've had Patagonia rain jackets for 25yrs. I decided to get this for travel-perfect, rolls up small. The fit is so nice though that I use it for biking, scooter to work, walking in rain etc. Just super happy with it. Got the orange color on sale, and now I love the color, wasn't sure initially. Good for visibility.
Like most of my Patagonia gear this jacket is very well made and keeps me dryer than most jackets I have had from lesser expensive companies. I really like the zippers, big pockets and vents. I ordered a XL so I would have room for under layers, for a truer if I wasnt planning on layering a Large would fit me at 6 foot and 195lbs.
Living in the Northwest requires a person to own and wear different types of waterproof jackets depending on conditions. This will be my "go to" jacket for spring and summer seasons.
The matrial and design quality is top notch! The fitting perfect for me . I wanted to get a down jacket under it. The jacket folds into the top pocket .
Nice and neat . Would be nice to have a loop on the out side. To be able to secure it to a bag .
Rarely does Patagonia miss the mark with any of the clothing and gear they sell and this is no exception. It is well designed, functional and exactly what I need for the top layer on a wet, cold and blustery day.
I just got this to replace an older Patagonia shell that was stolen while I was in Patagonia, Chile!! This is comfortable, keeps out the elements and keeps the toasty warm inside. I got it in orange and I love it!
This jacket is great for the weather we get up here in the Pacific Northwest. The collar goes high and hood is large enough to fit a helmet or cinch it up for a better fit. The material is very swooshy soundy which makes it very waterproof. Pit zips are great. I am 5 ft 4 in 130 lbs and the XS fits me very well.
It sits well and has room for layering. Its sleeves are a good length without being stupid-long. Sizing worked well for me. The helmet capacity was no problem in terms of cinching it down to wear without, although not big enough to fit a bike helmet (maybe that's an unrealistic goal). When cinched in to the head, vision's not badly restri... Read Morected. The hood and collar area sit pretty flat when not in use.
So far, it's kept moderate rain off and worked fine in a shower test, but I was disappointed that, from the start, water doesn't bead off as it's supposed to across the whole jacket. Particularly on the chest & shoulders, water soaks into the outer layer. It doesn't get through the inner layer, but given the jacket is new, I'd expected better water-shedding from the description. So far, I've found H2No never quite works as it should.
That said, taking on that bit of extra weight for a 3-layer rather than 2-layer fabric is absolutely worth it for keeping the rain out.
I haven't found the jacket particularly noisy to wear, and it's not as stiff as some others.
This rain jacket was a replacement for one that I had previously owned. The lining in the hood was flaking and I went into the store to replace it. Since I was wearing the old one and the employee was able to see the lining flaking, It was replaced with no questions asked. I was so impressed with the ease of the warranty replacement and the way tha... This is a great jacket! It is the outer layer when I backpack in the Sierras. It was a replacement for a similar version that was no longer completely waterproof. Patagonia replaced the old one at no cost. Thanks!!
Great jacket. Highly recommend. Feels much more premium compared to the Torrentshell. Good fit. Relatively roomy. Possible to fit some layers under or a puffy jacket. Just what I needed. Would rate this as 4.5/5 stars. Only small areas of improvement I find would be a little more sturdy front of the hood (otherwise great fitting hood) and a small p... Don't get me wrong, this jacket is great. But it's significantly more than the Torrentshell 3L, you really have to be committed to helping the environment. I love the fact that Patagonia is 100% committed to saving our planet, but the cost for this jacket is a little prohibitive. The fit is great; it's completely waterproof, and the hood will easily cover a helmet. The arm vents are great for a little extra breathability, and overall, it's a great jacket. I just wish it wasn't so pricey.
Patagonia has always been up there in the way of quality and practicality of products.
Now that old fishing nets are being I’m sure that they’ll be a good catch.
Had some help from the Boulder store replacing a failed Stretch Rainshadow (thank you Patagonia!). I've had this shell now for almost 2 months and it is simply amazing. On top of that, saw some fishing nets tangled in trees in AK and all I could think was how much this company is doing to help with products like this. Great shell, just get this.
Excellent water repellent coat with great breathability and ventilation. Lightweight but very sturdy jacket. Incredibly well built and has served me well on multi-day backpacking excursions in the rain. Excited to use this shell during ski season as well.
