Protect the ocean so it can protect us

Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

Ms Iron Forge Hemp™ Canvas Ranch Jacket

Kinda Large

Fantastic jacket

Just what I was looking for. Thankfully the large size I ordered fits perfectly, just know it’s not tailored and should be roomy. Lovely weight to the jacket and it feels extremely solid. I’m sure it will last me for years. Can’t wait for the temperature to drop and this will be getting plenty of wear.

Great jacket

This is the first Patagonia jacket I've purchased. It's a great jacket that feels part of you. Workmanship is of a very high quality and I love wearing it.

FAVORITE JACKET

I look forward to colder weather because I get to wear this jacket. I have had it 7 years and I have worn it every winter as often as I can. I have been warm in -14 degree weather up to the 40s in Fahrenheit. I especially like the roominess of the jacket. Both my kids love getting inside dads jacket when they are cold. Beautiful jacket.

This jacket feels wonderful, soft, yet durable. Nice and warm, too. Often with a durable price of work wear like this there is a certain amount of break-in necessary, but not here. The pleated back is a real star here for flexibility, I feel no strain or stretch along the back whilst working and that it bound to be a boon to it's long term dur... Read Moreability. Sizing: I ordered smaller than I usually would. At 5'7 and about 160lbs I usually but UK small-medium sizes, but actually got a XS here and it fits a treat. I don't think I would be able to comfortable bet a hoodie or thicker sweatshirt under, but I can fit a 10oz cotton canvas workshirt beneath without issue. Those with girthier wrists and bigger biceps than I (or watches) may find it snug though. Not that I'm skinny, but also not particularly muscular. The pockets are a tad high, and I imagine an extra size larger would have helped there, but then the jacket would have been longer past the waist than I was wanting, and I prefer it this way. For a steep (imo) initial cost this is a jacket which I can easily see justifying itself. It's warm, it's comfy, it looks great, it's protective, it's rugged, and beyond that it's Patagonia and so comes with their unparalleled Ironclad Guarentee. This jacket is equally at home on a work site or for fashion. It's an all-rounder. There's not many jackets which aren't full-grain leather or high quality cotton canvas that I think you could buy and be confident you'll be able to pass to your kids one day, but this is one of them. Highly, highly reccomend.

Great work jacket

I wear this jacket every day through our Wisconsin winters, doing farm chores and cutting firewood. It is the most comfortable work jacket I have had ( I am 65). Love this jacket

Really like everything about this jacket - fit, style, functionality and durability. I was guided by some other reviews that suggested this was a large fit. I agree. I am often medium in many Patagonia items and yet small was perfect in this. Another great Patagonia product.

My favorite jacket

I have had this jacket for 2 years now so I feel like this should be a really trustworthy review. This jacket is awesome. I love it more every time I wear it. My Journey with this Jacket

3 years ago, my mental health worsened and I lost control of my weight. At the time I was in community college in sunny southern California where I had never even felt snow firsthand. I want to like this jacket it fits great like it was made for me however the sleeve cuffs are too tight. I cannot even wear my smallish Casio watch if wearing this jacket. Durable work jacket

This is one of those pieces that you can be rough with, without worrying about ruining. The more you wear it, the more it shows. I really like the benefit of just machine washing pieces like this. One thing I didn't expect is how heavy the jacket is. I'm not mad as I want something that I can work hard in. Just be aware that this isn't a lightweight technical piece - it has some heft. Insulation is warm, but allows fir some warmth to be present w/ out overheating, through 3 seasons of the year. collar adds some warmth but could possibly use some light lining to avoid the itches! Little large, but I love it

I'm 6'3", 210 pounds and I love everything about this jacket. Durable material outside, soft warm inside. The only issue I have is that it's a little large in the torso. The length is just right for me, but I feel like I could wear two puffy'ish vests with it. Still keeps me warm in 38-42 degree weather.

February 24, 2023

Poor quality

I was given this jacket approximately 5 years ago as a Christmas gift. Right out of the box the right handwarmer pocket was sewn poorly and was misshapen, the zipper had to be replaced and today a shoulder seam separated the material unraveled. I haven't used this coat for work if I did it wouldn't have lasted a year.

Read Moreer than a Patagonia regular fit medium, so keep that in mind. The material is tough and the lining is very comfortable and makes layering easy. This is a great work jacket if you don't need to carry a ton of struff around with you. The only outer pockets are on the chest, which don't hold much, and your hand warmers, which are generously sized but you have to give up some of that hand real eastate if you want to tote around something that won't fit in the chest pockets. I had to re-order one of these as the zipper was sewn too close to the fabric and caused binding. I'm also not a huge fan of the elastic cuffs inside the sleeves as it can sometimes interfere with layering, but it does add to warmth. The green color is awesome, and overall this is a good looking jacket. Probably the most casual-crossover looking item in the workwear line.

This workwear relaxed fit is much different and involves ruminating on your use and personal preferences. I very rarely wear a size medium, but that's my preference for this jacket. I will primarily use this jacket for casual wear, hikes in brushy areas, and ranch visits. If I expected to do day-to-day serious work or wanted to do significant layering underneath, I'd go with my normal size of large which would be quite roomy for me. I also found that shrinkage for this garment, even using hot water and a hot dryer (which is probably not recommended anyway) led to quite minimal shrinkage. Point being, don't buy excessively baggy expecting significant shrinking to happen. If you can dial your size in, this is a helluva of a great jacket that should last for years and years in all kinds of conditions. I expect it only looks better with the patina of age and heavy use.

I feel it fits true to size. I usually wear a size large in jackets. I wear a size large in this. It does seem to be made as to facilitate layering other clothes under it. Its not a snug fitting garment. Its very comfortable. This material gives me the impression that over the next few years itll most likely form a nice (I dont know if its the right word for it since it isnt made of metal, but youll get what I mean) patina to it with repeated use. Theres a few jackets my Dad has had since before I was born that I would wear in my teens, many years ago for me now. But I cherished those clothing pieces that belonged to my father very much. I really hope this is one of those types of clothing pieces that can last a very long time and maybe catch the attention of one of my kids one day when theyre digging through my closet, and I then see them wearing it from then on. My first Patagonia purchase. Im very happy with it.

Perfect work jacket, runs a bit big

Ordered a large which I usually am and had to return for a medium. If you order the correct size this is an amazing jacket for working outside in the cold weather. Love the pencil pockets and the feel of the hemp canvas material.

Awesome Jacket

I ordered the large and it was too big. The medium fits me perfectly. I wish there was a stash pocket underneath the left chest pocket for a phone. The chest pockets are not big enough for one. The zipper looks dainty but works every time, no snags, and the tab is just big enough for a gloved hand. The fit is generous in the body. I can get a M's Large down vest underneath it. Which brings the con: You'll have to wear this buttoned up all the way all the time. The insulation stops well-short of the zipper on each side of the front leaving you with a nice big cold stripe from belt to chin. The uninsulated collar & uninsulated storm flap don't do much to help. It's a shame because the relatively heavy material of the coat is generally excellent, it's just not in all the right places. I wear a Med or Large coat, depending on fit and such, and had to order 3 separate sizes to determine my best fit here, which was tricky because this jacket is constantly out of stock. After about 2 months of back and forth, I figured out a Small was the ideal size, which seems wild to me, but this jacket definitely runs HUGE. Sleeves are a bit tight, ironically, but I'm a tall, lean guy and I'm OK with them, but bigger buffer dudes might want to size up just for sleeve size - the Medium had much more roomier sleeves. I have decided to have the jacket "taken in" so that I can keep it, but it is slightly frustrating there isn't a size that fits me better. Keep this in mind... Great Fit

Barn Coats are a must in New England. This one is the best I've owned. Comfortable, tough, and warm.

Good oute shellr material

This a nice coat that is perfect for a skinny person my size. The sleeves and body and the right length but I am a working person who could not wear long underwear and a shirt with this coat. Two pairs of long underwear would be impossible. The sleeves are too skinny for a worker's arms and the added pockets look stylish yet are not usable for... Read More any purpose I can think of. A flannel liner would also be an improvement. My waste size is 34 and I have almost no fat on my stomach or anywhere else..

Great jacket - problematic fit

The jacket is of great quality, really liked the jacket however I had to return it. It’s HUGE normally I order Medium however it was not available. The “fitguide” stated large, so thus because I liked the jacket so much I ordered the Large. The sizing is really strange, I’m a broad shouldered guy the shoulder fit was ok however the arm sleeves are ... Read Morequite tight fitting, To tight in my opinion, the belly was so large my partner and myself both fit the jacket. Will order again if my size turns up And hopefully it fits. None the less I highly recommend the jacket.

Beautiful jacket

Seriously the pictures don't do it justice. Just timeless style with a perfect, very natural looking color. I'm a climber, but I don't always want to wear a synthetic puffy while working on my truck or cutting wood outside (risking grease or tears in the nylon). It also won't melt near a campfire or stove. This thing is bomber a... Read Morend water resistant enough for Seattle winters. Does seem to run a full size large though. I normally wear Patagonia XS, so I can't go any smaller with this. Tough jacket

I’ve owned the Medium for a year after taking recommendations to size down .. it’s a bit snug on the upper back and arms .. but perfect everywhere else , so I ordered a large -it’s huge round the waist .. and too baggy ! So I’ll stick with the medium .. but it’s definitely a strange fitting jacket ! .. well made and should last a long time . I’m 5... Read More’11” and 200lbs .

tight arms and cuff

I usually wear XL but sized down because of the recommendations. Torso fit ok but the arms were tight (not short) and difficult to get my hand through the cuff when taking it off. There were no Range Coat XL in stock so I went to the Barn Coat XL with the different cuff which fits well.

One of my Favorite Patagonia Jackets

I've bought various Patagonia jackets over the years i.e. M's Down, Nano Puff, Isthmus, Better Sweater, Trucker Corduroy - but this jacket will quickly become my "go to" daily jacket. It's tough fabric is durable for work (but looks good for casual wear as well), runs true-to-size giving me good shoulder stretch/movement, a... Read Morend has those quick snaps when I don't want to fully zip it up (I REALLY like that in a jacket). I also like the placement of the deep front pockets, although an additional inside-zip pocket would have made it more functional. The only issue I had was how long it took for my tan color jacket to arrive - popular enough to be on back order for awhile - but the wait was sure worth it !

Trust me buy one size down , perfect jacket

My absolute favourite jacket. Five stars. Not waterproof but extremely breathable, warm, soft, maneuverable and looks great. My advice: buy one size small. I ordered a 3XL ... Read Moreand returned it immediately as it was MASSIVE. The Xl fits me perfectly and is my go to jacket.

Great Features and fabric

I bought this because I was getting so tired of all of my other insulated work wear being so stiff and binding. Oh this is how Bougie people never are too hot or too cold

This jacket blew my mind on so many levels. I have been searching for this holy grail of jackets my entire life. Being born and raised in Wyoming and running hotter than the Morningstar's decibel, finding a jacket that is well made yet doesn't have me sweating in 5 minutes is impossible. Or has me freezing when im out in the elements too ... Read Morelong. This jacket is just hands down perfection. Its incredible heft and craftsmanship is only paired by the details put into this garment. If you are T framed and blessed with a barrel chest with narrow waist, this jacket is also your go to. I ordered a XL first, even contacted customer service because the chest measurements state 44 for a large and im sitting high and tight at a 49. But when I got it... was way too large and looked sloppy on my frame. So I returned and ordered a large and BAM. Perfection. If you are able to, I would highly recommend trying on sizes at a store first because I could see how this could wildly range for different frames and body types. But don't think twice. Buy this jacket. You won't regret it. From the amount of compliments alone to the rugged build. This is a for life part of your wardrobe. From the office to the trail, it's built for it all.

Sleeves Too Short

I love Patagonia products and purchased many. The quality is exceptional and they last forever. One problem I have consistently always had though, is sleeve length.
