Protect the ocean so it can protect us
Our future is tied to the ocean. Its shared seas connect us through food, culture and sport. The home of amazing, abundant life, it’s also a powerful climate solution. Yet the practice of bottom trawling threatens to destroy this precious resource—bulldozing our ocean floor, undermining small-scale fisheries and deepening the climate crisis. Let's end this destructive practice, starting with an immediate ban in marine protected areas and inshore zones.

It was extremely tight around my chest area. The strange thing is even its very tight , it has lots of wrinkles on the right side I think probably because when zipper was put on, fabric was not smooth Very disappointed at the workmanship.

Jacket
these products are wonderful and I bought this jacket for my daughter. She really likes it.
I absolutely love this jacket for all seasons. Biking, hiking, nordic skiing or skinning this jacket does it all and fits beautifully and feels so soft on the skin. It makes me happy to put it on and always is in the car for any change in weather. My only regret is that there is not a sister jacket for gravel biking that is a bright color (cars) an... I bought this jacket for mountain biking and loved it until it rained and I got completely soaked. Why design a mountain biking jacket that isn't waterproof or at least water resistant? Great fit, great look but who wants to get soaked while on the trail?
Hey Jandy, thanks for the review. This jacket is water resistant, which means it can handle a light amount of moisture but it is not waterproof. We recommend checking on the product description before purchasing so you know what to expect, you can find all details under the "Specs & Features" tab on the product page. Nice, but not waterproof
This jacket was overall a great jacket - warm, thick and good in colder alpine environments. However, it is not, and does not claim to be waterproof! I just want other women to not be a goof like I was, thinking that this would be a good jacket for biking the Colorado Trail. After 2 downpours, it wetted out. That's to be expected for any jacke... Read Moret that just has a DWR coating. If you are looking for a jacket for heavy rain, look for Patagonia's H2No fabric, which I have found works great for waterproofing.
The jacket is really lightweight and packs away to a very small size. Although I've not had it out in really heavy rain yet it does seem to be waterproof and breathable.
My only quibble is with the armhole size- the small (the recommended size for me) was perfect except that the armhole was really small. There's no good design reason not... Read More to allow a little more space in the armhole. I ended up getting the M which means it's now long in the arm ( pretty annoying on a bike) and baggy around the middle. A good question to add to the sizing page would be what are your sports because I don't believe a swimmer or climber would fit the recommended size.
On the whole I'm happy to live with the size issue because the jacket is great otherwise.
The fit is perfect for my frame. The hood fits over my helmet and it kept me dry in a rainstorm. It is also a nice windbreaker. The zipper is smooth and the small pocket in the back fits a phone. Its overall the best mountain bike jacket I have ever owned.
I have only had the chance to wear this jacket a few times so far, but it really seems to do a good job of blocking the wind (not that Im biking that fast -mostly riding my gravel bike).
I am 55, 108lbs and the size S is perfect (despite my physique of a pencil, my shoulders are fairly wide). The smolder blue color is very pretty, although when Im... I wear this jacket often. I wear it for running and cycling as well for casual wear. Its light enough to pack and folds nicely. Kept me warm when the weather changed from sunny to windy. Happy with this purchase.
This jacket manages to be lightweight yet incredibly sturdy. I wasn't in love with the color when it arrived, but the more I wear it, the more it is a staple in my biking wardrobe. I am 5'9" and length of sleeves and body is great. The sleeves are tight at the wrist which is a bit weird with a bulky watch that I need to get out of th... Read Moree cuff. I am a big fan of the chunkier/sturdy plastic zipper that is easy to maneuver while I am riding. Next time - consider brighter color options - it's dark n' rainy in the PNW!
Bought this for cycling. Works well, keeping me warm on cold mornings. Looks good too. The sleeves are long and cover my wrists (a good thing) and the back is long too, so even when I'm hunched over the bike I'm covered.

There is one zippered pocket on the left back side of the coat. I appreciate the zipper for security but there is no way to open the pocket while cycling and no way to access the pockets on my jersey under the coat. I wish there was another, easily accessible pocket somewhere on the coat.
I had to return this otherwise beautiful jacket because my mobile device (Pixel 4) doesn't fit into the storage pocket. This seems like a major design flaw, for obvious reasons. Patagonia Designers, please make a mobile device friendly pocket!
Hi Marian, thanks for taking the time to write a product review. We're sorry to hear you were disappointed with the size of the pocket. We've passed this feedback along to our Design Team who are constantly improving our products to fit the needs of those using them. We hope to not disappoint you in the future.

Quite water resistant
Got caught in the rain on my bike, and was pleasantly surprised with how the water beaded up. Fits well and is comfy.
Perfect fit for my 5'4, 125lb frame. Great cut. Love this jacket for riding in low 50s. Usually pair it with Patagonia merino s/s MTB jersey. Great wind protection. Only thing is that the sleeves don't stay up when pulled up. Haven't tried it in the rain yet.
Warning: the Smolder Blue color has a very bright lilac zipper that is not shown in the pictures. Super bummer because I waited *forever* to receive this jacket thanks to Patagonias ultra slow shipping. Otherwise a nice jacket, just runs small. Im normally between s-m, & a large is just big enough.
One of my favorite jackets! Very light, comfortable, and stylish. Love the slim fit, runs a little small as I am usually a size small but had to size up.
This is a good looking jacket that gets the job done!
this is not the only jacket that I have but it may be the very best. It does run a little small and I have both a medium and I bought it also in a large. I ride my bike each day and it's hands-down the best jacket for bike riding. I do layering under the large and and keep it light under the medium for warmer times. It's just a great jack... Already really like the dirt roamer jacket. Obsessed with the green colour. I would say it runs a little on the small side. If you have broad shoulders and bigger arms I would size up. I got a medium so it would be big enough to put warmer layers under. The Patagonia long-sleeved jersey is a perfect companion, BTW
I absolutely LOVE this jacket! The helmet compatible hood is perfect. This jacket keeps me cool on my mountain bike climb and warm on the decent. I also love the back pocket, it's perfect for my keys/phone so they're not jabbing me in the hip... nice, thoughtful touch!!
I was between this jacket and the Houdini for mountain biking and running. Do yourself a solid and get this one. It breaths remarkably well without having a sweaty feel. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this jacket. The half-elastic cuffs plus the sleeve that goes over the wrist is genius. The clip to roll up the hood is exceptional. And, boy, does it breathe. I ordered this jacket for my upcoming trip to Europe. It is so cute and comfortable I couldn’t take it off. I ordered a medium in this Patagonia jacket’s, but I had to return it for the larger size. This jacket it perfect!!!
