Simple Fly Fishing Tenkara Fly Rod 10 6

Best backpacking rod ever

I was section hiking the PCT with my girlfriend and bought one of these. The best rod ever! It’s super lightweight and quick to set up. I can have a hook in the water in less than a minute and be ripping lips in two minutes! Plus TFO is the best flyrod company!

Well thought out design.

I'm a professional fishing guide and work mostly streams and low flow rivers in the Uinta mountain range of Utah. I often work with children from the ages of 8-18. Many of the students I work with have either cognitive or physical differences. Fine motor skills are a challenge. The ability to coordinate your hands, eyes and minds. Simplifying ... Read Morethe technical task of fly fishing has worked well over the past three years. I use this particular set up, more often than not, for my own use. The ability to quickly stow tippet and line with fly attached makes for an easy set up and clean up, especially working with clients and kids.

Fantastic Simplicity

I am the lucky recipient of this fly fishing rod and it is absolutely great. I love it! Very simple to use, very compact and easy to transport in its small wrapped carrier. Plenty of fly line/leader length to reach most trout pockets on these mountain streams/rivers. No more false casts to get all the extra fly line out which I really don't nee... Read Mored in the first place. Anybody interested in a cheap, used fly rod/reel??

Incredible rod,beautiful design

Can't say enough about this rod and it's design. The simplicity of operation is beautiful. Knew I had to try it as soon as I completed reading "fly fishing made simple". As soon as I received the rod,l had a great day on the Pecos River in New Mexico. Also, very glad some of the proceeds are being contributed to the Madison River... Read More.

Quick and Easy

This was my first time using a tenkara rod, while I have been using a traditional fly rod/reel for the past 4 months. I honestly wish I had started with tenkara and then tried the rod/reel. The setup is easy and casting is a breeze, even with the 10'6" on New England streams although the 8'6" would get me into tighter, brushier ... Read Moreareas. The 10'6" has a great action, plenty of flex. I was able to throw about 30 feet of line beautifully, although it was just for fun and not necessary at any stream so far. Most of the day I stuck with about 18 feet and had a blast. Packs up small enough for me to ride the train home without looking out of place- like my 2-piece 7wt does.
