With a sweater-knit face and moisture-wicking fleece interior for warmth, the versatile Better Sweater™ Jacket functions equally well over a shirt as urban outerwear or layered under a shell in the backcountry. Soft and bulk-free, the Better Sweater Jacket is made of 10-oz 100% polyester fleece dyed with a low-impact process that significantly reduces the use of dyestuffs, energy and water compared to conventional dyeing methods. Zippered handwarmer pockets keep fingers toasty and the stand-up collar has a zipper garage so your neck stays comfortable. Raglan sleeves provide pack-wearing comfort. With shape-holding, abrasion-resistant micropolyester jersey trim at collar, cuffs and hem. Hip length. It’s also Fair Trade Certified™ sewn, which means the people who made it earned a premium for their labor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fair Trade! Hurray! This is my first Patagonia purchase and I'm happy wit it. I bought it in support of Fair Trade, and I'm glad Patagonia has made a move to support a Fair wage for the workers who make their, and our, clothing. One thing to be aware of with this sweater is that it does not provide warmth in windy conditions. It's best worn around the house or on indoor shopping trips and similar situations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat/sweatshirt/sweater This is an interesting garment that I really didnt know I needed, I got it as a gift and am very happy I did. It fits into that weather that you might just wear a hooded sweatshirt. Is also great for layering. Sizing is a bit on the runs large sizing as most of Patagonia's regular fit stuff is. I am 6'2" 215 and large fits me nice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Personally do not care for this jacket Bought this for my husband back in Sept. he has worn it just about every day since and it's a mess. I purchased the black so collects and show animal fur/hair and with wear has develped those pills . I wash about ever other week hoping to clean the look up but doesn't really help. I spend about 20 minutes after each wash to de lint it while it's wet looks somewhat better but clean look only is temporary.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Misaligned interior panels My original better sweater had interior pocket panels that really didn’t affect the performance of the fabric. My second better sweater added an interior chest pocket panel that didn’t breathe the same as the right side - it was funny to see a sweat patch on my left side. My final better sweater included a full left interior panel, and, a partial right interior panel - i found this to be intolerable. How can anybody expect the fabric to function as described with this misaligned design. I’ve given up on this line and have moved to a competitor who understands how technical fabric ought to perform.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks and feels great except.... Got this sweater as a gift and I really like it, except for one issue - the zipper. Whenever the zipper gets to the neck line, it catches on the fabric beneath the zipper EVERY TIME. My father got the same sweater as a gift and his is doing the same thing. It seems that every time I want to zipper it all the way up, I need to work extra hard to move the fabric aside underneath the zipper, otherwise it catches. I am also worried it is going to rip it at some point. I've attached photo and on the left side of the zipper is where you can see it catches. Is this a known issue?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I absolutely love this jacket/sweater (swacket?). For casual wear and light activity it is the perfect weight and I wear it pretty much constantly - it is just so comfortable! I also wear it to the office and have received a surprising number of complements on it. If I had a complaint it's that the material under the arms is a little bunched up, but this is very minor - I'm a large in some dimensions and a medium in others so this does tend to happen. Overall it looks and feels great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great everyday jacket I’ve had my Better Sweater for about three years and it is still my favorite piece of clothing. It looks dressy enough for work while being comfortable enough for everyday. I would wear it all of the time and it is holding up great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this sweater I had coveted this sweater since seeing it on a friend earlier in the year and finally got around to buying it when I saw a deal. I've been buying outdoor gear for a very long time and have found a couple of items that what I would consider near-perfect. One is the Buff and now I'm adding this one to that list. I love this thing. It ain't perfect, but darn close. This sweater just oozes quality. It'll cover most conditions in Northern CA and is curently serving as my main commute jacket. I also plan on keeping this on my mandatory list of things to include on trips to Yosemite and other outdoor adventures. This is my third Patagonia product in two years and is a favorite by a long shot.
