Runs a bit small, both in length and width. Total "skull hugger". I rate my head as medium / large - so it's a no-go for guys with a real big head. Typical of Patagonia, the product is overbuilt and will probably last longer than me...

I thought I would have to learn how to knit after opening this beanie. My first thought was “I didn’t order a beanie for my daughter’s American Girl, I ordered one for me!” Small, snags on everything, may keep one ear warm but that’s about it.

Just right
Not too tight or too loose, nice mixture of wool and something softer.
Before I got this hat my head was always cold and so where my ears. The wife didn't find me attractive and my daughter used to make me drop her off a block away from school so she wouldn't have to be seen with me. Since I got the hat all that has changed! Favorite hat
I own this hat in multiple colors. It is honestly the best one I own. It fits perfectly and I can always cuff/un-cuff it to change the how it fits. Can't recommend it enough.
This is all too common of many beanie companies:cut/sizing...why deviate from original cut/sizing? The rounding of the top is different and much longer than an older version of the same style. Great fabric but cut is way off.

We did notice however that the product pictures show it styled a bit differently with the most current season version. In the past we have shown it modeled with the label on the side of the head, rather than close to the center; you could try that to see if that helps with fit. Comfortable Fit
I like this beanie a lot! Aside from it looking amazing it also is incredibly comfortable. After breaking it in at work for a couple of days, it feels awesome, keeps my head warm and I barely even notice Im wearing it. Definitely not a beanie for very cold conditions, but good for everyday use in cold conditions and warmer.
I love the feel. I love the style. I didn't love the fit. I ordered 2 of the these hats, one red, one blue. The red one was much smaller fit than the blue. The blue fits perfectly.
I wear a beanie almost everyday in the fall and winter and this has become one of my go-to's. I prefer to roll the beanie an extra time to give it the classic fishermans look above the ears. The Fishermans Rolled Beanie is the best I have found thus far. The weave allows for plenty of stretch so the fit isnt tight like the Brodeo and it doesnt itch! Also, there is no limit to how much you can roll up the sides so lots of style options. Just got the Wax Red. It is such a great color on and is a great accent piece.

Great hat! High quality.
Love this hat and have it in a few colors. I appreciate that it doesnt have a giant Patagonia logo on it like some of the other hats do. It is comfortable, warmish, and the cabin gold color is gorgeous. These are great hats to compliment shoes/socks for those who think about those things.
Ive been looking for a black beanie that fits my head for a long time. A lot of beanies kind of lift off the top of my head which I dont like. This hat is everything I was looking for. It also looks great with just about any outfit!

Stylish and Quality but Runs Smalls
Bought this and was really happy with the look and material. Seems to be good quality, but I cant speak to how long it lasts as I had to return it. For anyone with an even slightly larger head this will most likely not fit. It felt much too snug and wouldnt cover my ears if even if I pulled it down all the way. I’ve had quite a few different beanies to cover my bald head. This is my second favorite after the Brodeo Beanie. Covers just enough of my ears to keep them warm, but not too much so I can still hear something.
I was worried from other reviews that this would be too small, but it fits great! Unfortunately it snags really easy, which I found out when it landed against some Velcro on one of my bags.
Make the logo on both sides of the label ! Sometimes I like to roll it down to give my head a little breathing room. The logo on both sides of that tag would be really cool Im going to buy more of these beanies

The perfect beannie
Well made. Size is right. Not to tight and not too loose. Understated but perfect.
Ive always had trouble with finding a good winter hat because my heads smaller than average (lower crown). Because of this I would never wear one until I got this hat. It does fit tight but its very comfortable, warm, and never itchy.
My hat came with a dent in the the on only one side so it looks kinda lopsided but hey who cares, im assuming it will relax other than that it is super thick and warm! i wear it all day everyday.
Im very picky with my beanies and how they fit, but Im very happy to say with this beanie from Patagonia I have absolutely no complaints. Fits perfectly and super warm, great for any occasion

Solid quality
When I put this beanie on I could feel the quality of it through the weight and the fit. Its a heavy knit fabric and it has a snug feel on your head. Very comfortable and warm.
Cute hat that is warm and stays in place with strenuous activities! I measure a 22" head circumference, and this Fisherman's rolled beanie fits perfectly. Feels stretchy enough to fit larger heads. I purchased the Piton Purple and love it! Would like to see Patagonia use this color in more clothing too!

Hard to find a red one!
I've been looking for a red beanie to wear for the holidays and to match my vintage patagonia red jacket. This one fit the bill, it's red and warm.

Perfect Beanie!
After watching Jacques Cousteau documentary and Life Aquatic, had to have this beanie in red like my hero!
Bought 10 of these in black for all the boys and men in my family for Christmas. I thought they would need to be returned due to one size fits all. Pleasant surprise! They all fit from 10 year , teens, 20s up to a 69 year old. The guys all liked the fit and style. Made for a fun Christmas morning picture by the tree.

This hat was a disappointment of Patagonia wear. It was so small my husband couldnt wear it all all-price way too high for a gift he couldnt use. Very thin too, not at all like other products we purchased. Very disappointed!

I like the Patagonia wool beanies, but sometimes they can fit a bit loose. This one sits secure and looks good. I will also feel more comfortable repeatedly washing since this is a synthetic blend.
It is a toque, or beanie, or whatever you call it. It fits snug, this isn't a fashion cap for styling. There isn't an excess of material here. My biggest gripe is the inward seam can get in the way and make it sit funny on the head but otherwise it gets the job done.
My husbands never ending quest to find the perfect black beanie has led him to try this version. He has small to medium size head but it wouldnt even budge. Just for kicks I put it on my 6 year old and it fits.

Comfy, classic beanie
This is a great all-purpose hat: in the snow, out backpacking on cool nights, riding your bike around town, and in the backyard for a fall grill session. I love the purple!
So Ill admit Im a sucker for the carhartt beanies, but this beanie is awesome . Not as much extra material as the beanies mentioned above sometimes have, which is nice to change it up. This fits great. Does not create too much pressure on the head after a days worth of wearing it. The fabric feels ideal and look is very pleasant. The temperature is balance, meaning not too hot or cold.
This is a great go to beanie (AKA toque) for everyday wear. It's comfortable, warm and stays put. I have a medium size head and find the Brodeo Beanie will slip up and not keep my ears covered, but this one doesn't move.
If you have a bald head, you know some winter hats are less than flattering. Loose, extra room, constantly adjusting it. This hat fits great. Put it on how you like and it stays. Its warm and looks great. Holds its shape and stays in place. I couldnt be happier
The hat legit seems fine except for the fit. I have a large head and this hat does not "skim the ears" as described. It nearly covers my ears when folded as shown in the pictures. Returning.
I bought two (black and blue) and they are warm. Pricey but I have to support businesses that are doing the right thing and speaking out against conservative politicians and deniers of global warming and environmental issues.
The hat (following a tradition among many manufacturers, and unfortunately now Patagonia too) is very thin, in a way impossible to see from the web photos -- but you'll notice it if you try wearing it in winter in any northern state, especially if it's windy. It's more of a 'style hat' than something to keep you warm.

I’ve had my beanie for a few weeks now and I wear it nearly every day. It is stylish, functional, and well made — exactly what I’ve come to expect of all Patagonia products.
We like it, but were surprised at the "one size fits all" sizing. If you have a large noggin, it will fit very small. It would also be nice if they made a lined one; this one is good for mild cold days, but definitely won't suffice on colder days.
This is my second fishermans beanie in this color. I sadly lost my first one on a trail out and had to replace it ASAP. Over 3 years, including countless adventures and daily wear in the fall and winter, it's kept its shape, color saturation, and integrity of the knit. And the fabric doesn't pill!
This beanie is tight, I actually find that the Brodeo beanie wears better on my head than this one but it's equally warm. One thing is that if you don't have hair, this hat will compress your head and leave imprints of the ridges (they last about an hour or two). It's about the size of a yamaka. The pictures make it look so much larger than it actually is. Gonna return it if it doesn't get lost in my pocket among the lint first.
When this hat arrived in the mail I was shocked. I had to look at our invoice to make sure it wasn't a baby's product. It literally looks like an infant's hat! It honestly BARELY fits my 2 year old. I like the idea of a very simple hat. However, the top seam on this one is bulky and it doesn't quite lay right, whether rolled or not. I still wear it a lot anyway...but strings are now coming out all over the hat. Doesn't seem like it's going to last very long before it's too ratty to wear.

Holy cow what a great beanie! I was skeptical at first feel (comfort) and weight(warmth) of the beanie,once I put it on it is my new go to beanie,it is hands down the most comfortable beanie I have ever worn. The weight is just right I have worn it in 17 degree weather and 40 degree weather and it was perfect. Highly recommend!
I'm a guy and normally the "one size fits all" hats fit me,but this one was WAY to small. I put it on and immediately knew I couldn't wear it. The other hats/beanies are a bigger. This beanie is definitely a kids size.
