Book great - packaging bad!

Book came a bit damaged...big heavy multipound book was placed in a tyvek envelope and shipped...some bubble wrap was tucked in but didnt cover book, so bumped corners and small tear on corner of dust jacket..box would be better!! Book itself is Beckeys great masterpiece!

Fred Beckey

Fred Beckey is a national, no, international treasure. It was extraordinarily meaningful for Chouinard and Patagonia to support the book and film. These projects are a good start to begin the process of understanding his life and his work. Nice.

ebook - topos too low resolution to be legible

I purchased the ebook edition but was very disappointed due to the ebook publishing quality, not the writing. One of the key features of any climbing book (even a coffee table version like this) are the topos and photos that are included. The versions that are included with the kindle edition are so low resolution that you cannot enlarge and enjoy ... Read Morethe photos at full screen resolution, and the topos are so low resolution that you cannot read the text or make out the symbols, even if you enlarge them as much as possible. Sadly, the e-book versions are worthless. I have tried viewing on iphone, ipad and on-screen computer kindle. I hope patagonia addresses this (by including higher resolution versions of the topos), as it reflects badly on the publisher and does a disservice to Fred's monumental work.

Fred Beckey's 100 Favorite NA Climbs

Great book, full of detail, fine imagery and real life climbing. Not much better than this.

Beckey's Opus: 100 Climbs of North America

An awesome, comprehensive book of Beckey's favorite North American climbs. Criteria for inclusion is that he - Fred Beckey- had completed the climb - and not neccesarily with him having made the first ascent. This is his masterpiece. Packed with amusing antecdotes, notes, history, terrific maps, pictures, topos and excellent narative - it&#x27... Read More;s all here. Published by Patagonia, a true labor of love.
