I have only had it for a few days so far but am so excited about it. I have wide hips so was worried reading other reviews but I dont mind how it fits at all, I find it comfortable and Im normally a medium who bought a medium. Might be running my marathon in this and am excited for temps to drop. When it does, Ill try it with a base layer and see how low it can take me in the Minnesota cold. So far Ive worn it over a sports bra and am surprised how comfortable I find it to be, even wearing on walks and at home because I like the feel and look!
Its mad expensive and I dont have any gear thats this pricey so my expectations were high. Its light and super comfortable. Most windbreakers or jackets drive me crazy with the noise it makes when you move around in it but this doesnt have that annoyance either! The hood does stay up too, and most dont for me. So thats nifty as well! Sleeves are enough to cover my hands too even with my long arms.
Did not think Id have this much to say about a piece of clothing ever in my life but Im stoked! Only downside to me is the lack of pockets and the bottom zipper doesnt have fabric around the metal, so the metal is on my skin for now and might rub on a shirt. Hope it doesnt pill my shirts on long runs.
I have used my air shed for running and alpine climbing and it works superbly for both. I am sure it would be just as effective for many other activities. It is superb.
Das Shirt ist superleicht und ist sehr angenehm auf der Haut zu tragen. Passform ist perfekt, die langen Ärmel kann man gut zurückschieben und stören nicht.
This is truly an amazing layer. It is what I have been needing for active cold-weather outings. It is fast becoming my layering staple as I'm heading out the door to be active.
I have to subtract one star (or half a star, if I could) for fit though. This is a pretty slim-fitting top, which isn't necessarily a problem but makes it trickier to layer with. The weird tight elastic at the waist is not comfortable if you have any hips, is tough to layer with or to get off/on while mid-activity, and has a tendency to ride up. (For reference: I am 5'6", 130 lbs and the Small is the right size, except for the hips where it is way too tight.) My partner has the men's version of this pullover and it has a normal waist; it would be great for Patagonia to make a non-elastic (or at least less-elastic) waist available for women as well, for ease of layering and not having it ride up.
Hey Mari, thanks for the review. We're glad to hear that you're overall loving this pullover and that it has become a staple for you. We'll share your thoughts on the elasticated waist with our product team. Thanks again for taking the time to share with us!

Perfect product and awesome fit
Definitively an upgrade from the previous style! I love this hoody. I am 5'9 130 lbs and the S fits me perfectly. Right length, right amount of room to move around and a slim but not too slim fit. This top is just too tight through the torso. I like all my clothes to skim the body or hang loose, not make you feel like a stuffed sausage. Light travel jacket
Purchased this for travel.
I like that it folds-up into a smaller pocket.
Patagonia delivers!
The zipper freezes in place and won't slide on cold days. The seam between the different kinds of fabric on the arms is scratchy. There is no pocket. Overall, I love my original airshed way better--had thought I was upgrading b/c I wanted a hood, but definitely a downgrade.

Great Running Top
This top is great for cool weather running. The double zipper is amazing. One thing I would suggest is thumb holes and watch windows on the sleeves so you can access your gps without pushing the sleeves up.
This is a regular go-to layer for me when fell/trail/ mountain running as well as for casual outdoor use. It is compact and light enough to stuff into my running pack but is perfect for running in when there is a cool breeze giving some added warmth without over heating. The material feels so comfortable against the skin with zero annoying seam rub... Read Mores and a wonderful light hood to pull up and down to further adjust body temperature. The sleeves can also be pushed up and down and will stay in place whilst running. Perfect!
this is my new must-have running gear. It is light, keeps you warm and dry. The long sleeves can be used as gloves and the hoodie as a hat. It is so light that sometimes I forget I am wearing it.
The breathability and fit on this pull over are what make it so great. I wear mine in 40-50 degree weather for 10-20mile runs and never have a problem with overheating or being too cold. The only thing I wish is that it were made with the option of having no hood! I dont need a hood while running.
I ordered this as a wind breaking layer for long runs and hikes. The reviews were great, but I have to admit, I was skeptical when I got it. Its very thin and I wasnt sure it would do what I needed. I geek out on simple, effective designs. I could ramble on and on about how incredible this layer is. First - temperature range. The longer sleeves serve their purpose keeping hands a little warmer (I opt for gloves if below 24F). Size is great, I sometimes run between a small and medium (57 / 135) in other brands but a solid small in Patagonia which simplifies things. If this were a little bigger though it would still fit fine. The band at the bottom stays put, it doesnt ride up or pull with a hydration vest, the pouch on the hood serves its purpose (although Ive yet to take it off during a run). Lightweight and quick drying material and my favorite part that other windbreaker/shell layers have failed on in the past it doesnt stink! Havent had to wash it yet after a dozen wears (might be time soon ;). Only teeny thing is when tromping through briars, the sleeve fabric does pull and ends up with loose threads. Not a deal breaker though. So well thought out and a staple for me for winter and cold weather running.
I didn’t expect to love this pullover as much as I did but it’s perfect: a versatile, breathable but warm, running « jacket ». I also think it looks good on me (curvy, 5’4 , 63 kg) and I love the colour. It’s my favourite Patagonia item so far.
Great piece of kit for a wide range of circumstances. Only missing the possibility to roll up the hood in windy conditions so it stops flapping around.
Been using this top for a while and want to add that this same top would make a great vest. (Same zipper length, cut, material). Amazing piece for long mountain days
Thank you for finally making this is more colors than blue! I got the grey and I love it. Super light weight and keeps me protected on early morning runs on the mountain. Definitely recommended.
I'm a sucker for new products that Patagonia launches, and was excited to take this new pull-over out a few times over the last few weeks as we transition to fall/winter. I sometimes struggle with what to wear during transition seasons, and this piece was incredibly warm, yet breathable as I heated up during my run. Two pieces of feedback are:... Read More
1. I have always been a Medium in Patagonia sizing, and my body has not changed significantly enough to downsize to a small... but I'm finding more and more that Patagonia has adjusted their sizing to run larger, requiring me to size down. 2. I wish it had thumb holes. The sleeves are long and I appreciate I can pull them over my hands, but I'd rather pay a few dollars extra just for thumb holes.
Nice stretchy fabric that accommodates arm movement for running. Its fairly firm fitting, so I use it over a form fitting short sleeve for fall running.
I really like how this can be worn in so many ways -- I can comfortably wear this for runs when it is up to about 55-60 degrees by itself, and if I put a long sleeved wool baselayer underneath I can wear it when it's 35 degrees out. I thought the Houdini was the ultimate jacket, but the Airshed is perfect. I thought it would bother me that its not full zip, but the zipper is ample for on and off. I also find myself leaving this on for the entire run as it breathes so well. Fit is true to size with enough room for a capilene shirt to fit comfortably underneath.
My initial impression of the new Airshed is that I like it, but don't love it. It's the beginning of the season for wearing it here in coastal CA, and maybe my perspective will change over the season. A great concept for variable mountain conditions, which is why I bought it. But it suffers from the problem of serving many design purposes... Read More at the same time, but none of them really well. A general problem with hybrid clothing. For instance, the collar works great when the hood is fully on. But hard to wear comfortably with just the collar up (no hood). No matter where I zip it, it is somewhat bunchy or floppy. The hood is great when worn alone -- but doesn't fit so great over a baseball cap type running hat. The long sleeves are useful to pull over your hands -- but awkward extra fabric otherwise. I'd really just rather bring a pair of liner gloves than have all that extra material. I will wait until later in the season to decide, but I might shorten the sleeves. I have quite long arms, so I can't imagine how it would be on someone with normal or shorter arms.
I have the original Airshed and love it. My go-to daily running layer in the autumn and spring. And it still will be. I think this new version will be useful in windier, blowing fog conditions at higher elevations (with the hood). But ironically, possibly less versatile than the original design, especially for layering. The fit overall is as expected, and seems best with a wool t-shirt underneath. Works well in windy or foggy conditions in the 40s and 50s. Probably will use my original Airshed so I can wear a heavier, long sleeve layer when it is in the 30s.

I own a lot of Patagonia; my airshed pullover is hands down my favorite piece for running. So I was super excited when I saw the release of the pro version! I just got it in the mail today, however, and am feeling ambivalent because of the following:
1. At the time I write this, the description says this has "Built-in thumb loops and fold-ove... Read Morer mitts for added protection on colder days". Unless I missed something, the airshed pro pullover does NOT in fact have these. The sleeves are long and you can pull them over your hands but there is definitely no built in mittens. There are also no thumb holes. I was super excited for these features and that was a huge letdown. Patagonia - please update your description, and maybe consider adding these to a future version of the airshed.
2. This is more obvious from the description but the Capilene fabric is not waterproof or resistant - water just soaks right in. It doesn't make sense to me to make a hood out of this material - the rain will go right through!
3. This is lacking the small pocket on the chest that the usual airshed has. I miss it for smaller items like headphones or tissues.
All in all, kind of a disappointment. That said - it fits true to size (I am 5'10, 150 lbs and got the medium), and is really cute. It might be better for climbing than for running. I am not sure whether I'll keep this or return it yet.
I love everything in the airshed line and this is no exception. I like the addition of the hood and mix of materials. The airshed is one of those products (like the capilene air) that is perfect in a wide variety of conditions and gets packed for every trip, regardless of location.
