My husband gifted me with this jacket for Christmas after we had to bike in the rain in October without proper gear. We're not mountain bikers, but rather big fans of Rail Trails. I've done a few rides in the jacket this February and also worn it when I'm out and about. It doesn't keep me quite as warm as I thought it might, but it's a great windbreaker and is roomy enough for layering. I love all the pockets and the zippered armpit vents.
Just one little thing. When I first tried on the jacket, I checked out the pull ties in the pockets that tighten the bottom of the coat. The little knob on one tie immediately came off. Definitely not worth sending back for repair, but I'd appreciate knowing if there's a type of glue or adhesive I should use to reattach it. If nothing else, I'll just tie a not at the end of the cord.
All in all, I highly recommend this jacket and am proud to possess something made by Patagonia!

Good for raining day
I bought a similar one at Germany 7 years ago and it's still fine. Therefore, I bought this one for my daughter. The design is a bit plain but the fit is about the same. It feels a bit thinner then the other one I have. Overall, we like it.
My 20 year old plus Marmot jacket was old and tired. Loved it. It was time for a new Gortex weatherproof jacket. Took the plunge and no regrets! I love everything Patagonia!
Purchased during Patagonia's annual sale for backpacking in the Northwest. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy one size larger than usual, and now my base layer and puffy fit perfectly underneath it. Waterproof so far! Only con is that the navy blue color is practically black.
I wasn't sure about which size would fit me since I have wide hips (105cm), but relatively small waist (76cm). Usually I'm a size M on top and L on the bottom. I ordered both sizes just to be sure and went with the L in the end. The M fit, but was snug around the hips. L will be better for layering.

I've only worn it a handful of times and only in light rain, but so far I'm really happy with it.
I brought this and my down puffer on a trip to England and Scotland. Alone its a great rain jacket with under arm vents if its hot. I much prefer this shell/down jacket combo to the Torrentshell. My son purchased the mens calcite during the recent sale and loves it!! Please don't change or discontinue this! The new Gore Tex products are not necessarily water proof. The calcite jacket is the best.
I just got this the other day and WOW. I love this jacket. It fits well and is truly rainproof. I walk everywhere in a big city so rain gear is key. It is not bulky so my backpack fits over it without being bulky under my arms. This is money well spent for years of use.
I bought this jacket after another one with a DWR coating just did not cut it against a rare heavy downpour in Ventura. As always, top quality from Patagonia and beautiful color (dark borealis green).
I am moving to a state with much harsher weather, and am very happy to have a reliable waterproof jacket to take with me.
I was on the fence about this jacket about the price but loved the color and had a similar jacket from another company at the same price previously. Similar in many ways except for better styling details. Just as light but this doesn't snag as easily to date.

I purposefully bought this jacket a size larger for layering purposes. I used it twice so far: in Glacier NP and casually in Denver during a down pour. It kept me super dry. I am so glad I finally upgraded my rain shell. This jacket will serve me for years to come.
Great fit, good length and a proper hood that fits over my helmet. Packs down small and is perfect for mountain biking, hiking and climbing adventures for when the weather turns wet!
Decided to see how rain resistant it would. Went for an hour walk. When started there was a light drizzle. By the time I got back home it was an official down pour. I was dry. I was pleasantly surprised!
