Bought a Calcite to replace the Torrentshell I had grown out of. At a reduced price the two jackets were almost the same price so went fir Calcite with added GoreTex. Fantastic jacket for walking. Waterproof Needs Layers
I bought the Calcite Jacket to wear to outdoor sporting events in the Pacific Northwest. I bought the Womens Large I am 5ft 5in 142pds. Ready to bike in the rain!
My husband gifted me with this jacket for Christmas after we had to bike in the rain in October without proper gear. We usually don't spend this much on apparel, but the quality is well worth the cost! (And we really appreciate Patagonia's business model.) I will definitely have to do some wet rides to justify owning this wonderful jacket... Read More. We're not mountain bikers, but rather big fans of Rail Trails. I've done a few rides in the jacket this February and also worn it when I'm out and about. It doesn't keep me quite as warm as I thought it might, but it's a great windbreaker and is roomy enough for layering. I love all the pockets and the zippered armpit vents. Just one little thing. When I first tried on the jacket, I checked out the pull ties in the pockets that tighten the bottom of the coat. The little knob on one tie immediately came off. Definitely not worth sending back for repair, but I'd appreciate knowing if there's a type of glue or adhesive I should use to reattach it. If nothing else, I'll just tie a not at the end of the cord. All in all, I highly recommend this jacket and am proud to possess something made by Patagonia!

Purchased during Patagonia's annual sale for backpacking in the Northwest. After reading the reviews, I decided to buy one size larger than usual, and now my base layer and puffy fit perfectly underneath it. Waterproof so far! Only con is that the navy blue color is practically black.
Staying dry once again ^^
I wasn't sure about which size would fit me since I have wide hips (105cm), but relatively small waist (76cm). Usually I'm a size M on top and L on the bottom. I ordered both sizes just to be sure and went with the L in the end. The M fit, but was snug around the hips. L will be better for layering. The sleeves are relatively long - they ... The armpit zips are nice as well :P I've only worn it a handful of times and only in light rain, but so far I'm really happy with it.
The perfect shell
I brought this and my down puffer on a trip to England and Scotland. Alone its a great rain jacket with under arm vents if its hot. The new Gore Tex products are not necessarily water proof. The calcite jacket is the best.
My new go-to for rainy days....
I just got this the other day and WOW. I love this jacket. It fits well and is truly rainproof. I walk everywhere in a big city so rain gear is key. It is not bulky so my backpack fits over it without being bulky under my arms. This is money well spent for years of use.
Perfect for when it actually rains in SoCal
