I have nothing but praise for these shirts. They fit my body. In an XL the shoulders hit me at the shoulders. The length is just right. Not to tight. Comfortable. The quality is THERE. I love these shirts.
I am 5'11" and about 200 lbs with a bit of a belly and the XL fits perfectly. I bought 2 and will probably buy more. I have the R1 Air in XL as well and the fit between these 2 is a bit different, probably by design. It may be the most comfortable shirt I own, and I got a compliment from my wife which is rare. There is a really long tag inside the bottom of the shirt that I cut away with scissors but they should have made it tear away or omitted it all-together. There is a little well designed loop inside the collar for hanging the shirt which I really don't notice but I generally hate tags or anything in the collar area but this one is fine. This would layer well under a puffy but probably not well under a fleece like the R1 Air, which is probably designed to work best as a base layer anyway.
I wear these shirts on a daily basis and they also make a great base layer for colder weather. I wear both the long sleeve and short sleeve shirts and will buy more once there are more colors! Love them!!!
I purchased a couple capillene shirts for my husband for Christmas. He wears this shirt under his work shirt for hours every day. He is impressed with the quality and feel of this shirt against his skin. It is comfortable and the fit is right on. I ordered two more recently! I definitely recommend this shirt.
Odd fit, long sleeves for short woman, stretched out cuffs
I've written other reviews on this shirt. I won't buy it again. Based on reviews, I think Patagonia ought to make different cuts, for tall slim people, tall thick people and shorter shorter armed thick folks too.

Perfect Fit
Perfect fit and looks good under a bomber jacket when out on errands.

Long sleeves, short waist hem
I'm a gal, liking loose clothing and have over 100 vintage Silkweight and Capilene 1 shirts. I love love the ones made in the early 90s. They were soooo silky, utterly a delight to wear. As the years went by, the fabric got less soft and silky and now I guess this Cool Daily is the closest. And the sizing got bigger.
This newest model has slee... Read Moreves which are made for tall folks, so 4 inches too long. I hate the long sleeves. I'll have to cut off and hem the sleeves. The shirt oddly is not all that long in the body. I do like the self fabric neck collar versus the old ribbed neck.
I do like the Cool Daily short sleeve versions, in men's XL and womens XXL. I like the larger neck in the women's version.
Sleeves are 4 inches longer then last capilene 1, silkweight models. I have over 100 vintage and used capilene shirts.
I hate this shirt.
Ought to be different models for different arm lengths. Going to have to cut off and hem.

These are very comfortable in warm or cold weather, fit well and never stretch.
I selected this item for my husband to take him out of his comfort zone. Not his normal styling. And he was surprised when he liked it.
I love the softness and the fluidity of the fabrication. Decided on size medium on this style for him because of the fabric. The medium was perfect.
This is exactly the right weight for winter in Northern California. It's the most comfortable shirt I own. I wear it for days on end, and sometimes ad pajamas. I can't say enough good about this product.
Used this as my daily work shirt in landscaping during a really hot summer . The sleeves offered decent sun protection and the material kept me cool and comfy during the worst days. I have one comment for you. I bought several years ago the Capilene Base Layer - Lightweight. One of the features of this base layer was the thumb loops. I'm usually using several layers of clothing, so the thumb loops were very helpful. You should bring those back to this particular layer.
I am in between a medium and a large in typical men's T-shirts. I first tried a medium but I found a large fit me better because it doesn't stretch much, so even though my arms were the right length, when I raised my arms the shirt rode up on my belly. I like this shirt, but the older versions had a strap at the end of each sleeve that allowed you to hook it onto your thumb which was great when you pull on a sweater on top. If you have the previous versions of this shirt, this new model does not have that feature, which is unfortunate.

this is my favorite shirt from patagonia... the fabric drapes well, the cut is perfect. good length on the sleeves, breathes well... just the right amount of stretch. this is my go to for multi-sport.... long sleeve mtb, running, climbing or just to wear. this is a good one...

I only wish Patagonia would offer a greater selection of colors.
BTW - as a personal choice I do not recommend, nice to let others use thier own uninfluenced choices. happy to see the non-stink additive works on the newer Capilene, can wear it a bit more between washings. Washing/content Tags on inside side seam have to be removed right away and completely - they are very scratchy.
This shirt is 1,000 times better than Nike's Dri-fit shirts that look the same. It's extremely breathable and you can tell it's high quality. I wore it over the entire weekend (lazy weekend) last weekend, and I swear this shirt did not have an ounce of odor on it. 10/10.
Wanted a long sleeved Capilene to wear while traveling/ on vacation. Easy to pack, light enough for summer yet it will keep you warm & looks good to go out in. This really brings you body temp down while keeping the sun off your skin. It is smooth on the skin, and not tight anywhere on the body, no restrictions. Would recommend to anyone out in the summer sun wanting to stay cool and not need sunscreen.

I love this fabric and wear it continuously spring summer and early fall. No matter the activity level I feel dry and cool. My only wish is that it be a couple of inches longer so it would tend not to ride up. Still a great garment.
The sleeve length is quite short. When arms are extended, it rides up several above my wrists. It does not fit at all like the Mens Capilene Midweight Long Sleeve Crew Shirt. The selves of this shirt are much shorter.
Great shirt - very comfortable - super whisking with the sweat and super comfortable to mountain bike. The thinned and fit makes it easy to layer as well. These shirts are extremely comfortable, and lightweight. The light and breathable material makes them very useful for all day wear in varying temperatures. I ordered three of the short-sleeve and three of the long-sleeve. These are now the only shirts I wear outside of work.

My go-to long sleeve layer in CO and AZ, regardless of the temps. Perfectly comfortable in snow or stupidly hot temperatures, and the best part? They're a regular fit, which is a rarity in todays slim/athletic market, so they also make a great knockabout town top as well.
Capilene cool daily shirts are must haves. Super soft, quick drying, no funk. I wear them as base layers in winter for running or nordic skiing (dry next to skin) or as a casual shirt in the warmer months. Great for travel: they roll up in a compact bundle and no wrinkles.

They get holes burned in them from grinding or tending a fire, after ten years or so they loose some of their shape, work stains will ruin their presentability, may need a hole stitched. But generally, as most P. gear I have previously or currently own, is the hold up for a long time of hard use.
Design changes that would make these shirts work better for me: longer in the torso to stay tucked into pants, longer sleeves to keep wrists covered even when reaching.
The old capilene Ts were very comfortable but eventually even they wear out! Bought two replacements last year and they felt like wearing the chopped up water bottles theyre made from! But they learnt and this one is great, Ill be getting a couple of short sleeves
Bought this, a lightweight and a merino. Lightweight is great for sleeping in or as great base layer under my R2 tech. The merino is warm but a little thin and nippy. The daily is just right, feels great on its own on the beach or as a base layer in the winter

Shirt has great fabric and fits well but I was the neck of the shirt was tighter. Everyone makes these T shirts will sloppy neck fits and the look terrible.
I wear this as a base layer or as as casual tee. In both cases it keeps me warm and comfortable. It washes and dries well too, i.e., keeps its shape and no wrinkles.
The fit is really strange. Too baggy in the arms and torso, but too short. It's impossible to layer this shirt under anything because the arms get pushed up and you can't tuck it in.

Versatile and comfortable
I'm wearing one right now. Perfect as an undershirt, but also by itself (with pants, obv).
I bought 2 so I can wear them more often. Great.
These are great shirts. I have three of them and will be getting many more. As soon as my older lightweight capilene shirts wear out, I will also be using these for other activities -- outdoor ice hockey, cross country skiing, hiking, etc. Why don't you use this same material for lightweight bottoms that were discontinued a while back?
I have several of these shirts I use for hiking in warm weather. I LOVE the old ones. The fabric used with this new shirt seems more sheer and consequently the shirt has no body or shape to it. Very disappointing.

Please make this in a slim. I normally wear large in the mid weight capilene which comes in slim fit and it fits perfect. I bought the large in regular fit on this and it was huge (slim not offered). So I bought the medium and its too short in sleeves and body.

The fit, material, and everything else is the same as the graphic versions of this. I own a few of the graphic ones and it's refreshing to have the plain versions which is more versatile for matching with multiple outfits. Great stuff at a more affordable price.
Now I have three of these and I use them for a whole slew of activities. Skiing , running, biking, camping , and work . And after putting it on I never give it another thought. Very durable .

This layer shirt is super comfortable and light weight. Works well for sun protection too. This version has looser sleeves than in the past, which you may or may not like better. Great purchase!
Super light and breathable, while offering good sun protection. Fit is good, with stretch for high movement activities. The antimocrobial finish works well to prevent the synthetic funk. And with all Patagonia products, I feel better choosing recycled, fair trade production. A really great piece of kit.
