Despite being warm, Patagonia coats are EASILY damaged. The fluffy top layer of fabric is very thin and easily tears (I have a long rip across the lower back). The long, long zipper often catches and snags, and when I washed my coat one time, the zipper broke completely. I can't review the exact coat I own because it is no longer shown on the ... Just not warm enough
I needed to replace by well worn 7-8 year old winter jacket ( different brand).. I found this coat in a Patagonia Store in Maine. ( I live in NH). I loved the way it looks on me, very slimming. However, I wore it on a 40-45 degree windy winter day and found myself cold especially in the arms. On a non-windy below 20 day I was even colder. The arms were not as well puffed with down as the body of the coat so I figured maybe it was defect. I reached out to customer service and they did send me a new one but it was the same. Super sad to be returning it because I truely loved the way it looked on me.

Hi Alyssa, thanks for taking the time to write a review. We're sorry to hear that the Down With It Parka isn't providing enough warmth during colder conditions. The Down With It is a wonderful option for milder days, but not the best on a windy, 20 below day. For colder, windier days we recommend taking a look at the [Women's Downdrift Parka](https://www.patagonia.com/product/womens-downdrift-parka/20605.html?dwvar_20605_color=SMDB&cgid=root). It's amazingly warm and a great pick for all winter conditions and prolonged outdoor exposure.
My new favorite winter coat
I bought this coat based on a recommendation from my sister-in-law. I was shocked by how warm, cozy and flattering it was! It truly combines all my wishes for a warm, nice fitting, ethically made and affordable coat. I had to part with my 7-year-old Tres Parka after outgrowing it, and haven't been able to find a substitute that fits me well (I... Read More fall between a Patagonia S and M) until now. I have gotten so much use out of this coat in the recent weeks and can also say that it provides decent protection from wind and the collar buttons up for ultimate warmth. If I could make one suggestion for improvement, it would be to make the hip pockets slightly larger. Other than that it is true perfection. For reference I have larger shoulders/smaller waist/wider hips, 64 inches tall, 130lbs, and small allows for light layers underneath without feeling restrictive.
Perfect Winter Coat
I absolutely love this coat! It is super warm and great for Minnesota winters without being overly bulky. Its a tad longer than I would maybe want but that also makes it nice to sit in. The pockets are nice and deep including the hidden inside pocket. I am super happy with this coat!
Super warm but ripped
I was obsessed with this jacket until it ripped in the armpit after the first month. Very disappointing for what I paid!

Very Warm and Versatile Parka
I purchased this almost weightless down parka in black and really love it. I live in a tropical climate and get cold very easily. Very comfortable and warm
So, I initially bought one size too big and was able to easily exchange for the XL and it fits perfectly. Its very well made, great length and the pockets - including inside pocket- are for me in the perfect spots. It hasnt been terribly cold this winter, but this definitely keeps me warm on the cold days so far. I love it!
My favorite Patagonia purchase ever!
I have several pieces from Patagonia, but was in need of something long to cover more of my legs and butt. This thing was exactly what I wanted, kept me cozy in below freezing temperatures and super comfortable! Falls just above my knee. Super super happy with this purchase.
2 time winner
I'm pretty small, so many things are hit & miss. This is a hit!! Bought this in dark green about 3 years ago. Fit, warmth, color - all work. Great coat! Jumped at this sale! The green one could use a washing (cuffs, pockets), but I'm afraid to take the chance. HELP!
I bought this coat for
I bought this coat for a friend who lost her business and house .. didn't have a coat for the cold winter weather... She absolutely loves the coat. Warm, perfect fit, the removable hood changes the look when not needed,,, the quality is great, workmanship is perfect... couldn't ask for a better product .
Super Warm, Well-designed and constructed
Great design, particularly the snaps at the bottom sides of the coat - keep closed for more warmth, open for more room to stretch legs when walking. Great color (many compliments!) Very warm, allows a layer underneath the coat, and not heavy or bulky. (Also great customer service in the store! Very patient, knowledgeable, and helpful! Thank you!)
Color selection is terrible
I like this jacket and have had a down with it parka for many years now. Mine is worn out and I wanted a new one. I ordered this in the red - the color is just drab. Thank you so much for your feedback on our color options, we truly appreciate it! Please rest assured that we will make sure to pass this along to our Product Team so they are aware of the want/need for brighter colors. As for the waterproofness of this parka, sadly this parka is not waterproof but it is water resistant. That being said, water will get through the membrane if there is prolonged moisture. A good way to keep this item water resistant is to machine wash in cold water with light detergent and then tumble dry on low heat.

I really like this parka! It fits well and keeps me warm walking around town in 10 degree weather. Best In Class
I have Patagonia jackets in all colours, weights and sizes, with hoods or not. Living in Southern California we experience varying degrees of inclement weather, morning to evening, and this jacket protects me from wind, rain, and the bitter cold. Love it! Thank you Patagonia!
Ive been eyeing this parka for a while and with my birthday coming up, thought this was the perfect excuse to buy it for myself. I like to layer so I chose the medium. Its nice and long and very warm. The hood is large comes down well over my hats. I have enough black coats in my closet so I picked up the navy and its gorgeous. I just am in love!!
Warmest coat I've ever had
I live in California, but spend a lot of time in the chilly Northeast. My beloved Nano Puffs haven't fended off that chill as much as I've wished, so I took the plunge and bought this Down with It parka. It's an astonishing coat. Significantly warmer than any other coat I own
I am finally warm in the winter! The hood is generously fit so it makes a difference in the wind. The fabric is very high quality. I was slightly disappointed when the interior stitching of the pocket came unstitched, but it was a simple fix that you can't see from the outside of the coat. I will buy from Patagonia again.

Not for curvy figures
I wanted to love this coat, the length was perfect and I liked the style. The small fit at the top but was really tight around my hips. I tried the medium and it was a little large at the top but still snug at the hips. Had to return them both.

This jacket does not live up to the price and name. It looks warm but it is not as warm as it should be for the thickness/bulkiness of it. I've had this jacket for 2 winters already and just unpacked it for my 3rd, washed it and its still like new so I felt compelled to write a review. This is the perfect winter jacket for me. definitely an investment piece as more than I would normally spend but worth it. its so warm and cosy. Had lots of compliments about it too.
Perfect length, great fit, so warm!
I live in the mountains in Colorado and the temps and wind can be brutal! This is the perfect coat for these gnarly conditions. Even in 20 below temps out hiking my dogs its seriously warm! The only reason I didnt give it 5 stars was on the last one I owned, I had replace several snaps multiple times. Just got the newest version and the hardware is... Read More different now.
Not good fabric, Great warmth
I have to give this parka a 3 star review due to the durability of the fabric. I have it in a lighter color and unfortunately the coat will get water stains. I have washed my parka and followed the instructions and the water stains will not come off. Also, there is like a darkened-patina around the wrists and stuff that is due to regular, movement.... Read More I live in NE and having a coat that is visibly stained from the snow is not good. The parka keeps me warm and cozy but it looks filthy so now its just for the house. Not worth the price due to the fact that it looks gross with all these water stains all over it.

However, the snaps on the sides/back constantly break. I purchased this coat very late 2020. Sent it for repair February 2021. Broke as soon as I wore it again!!!! ... Very warm and light coat.I
Very warm and light coat.I originally ordered size L which fitted very well but was little tight around midsection. With heavy heart I changed for XL which is loose and not so fitted but more comphortable with closing zipper and movement I regret I gained so much weight ! Fitted coat is much better looking ! Love the style
This is a very flattering jacket, it just runs small. Its a lot more fitted than expected but thats good so its not puffy. It would be warm enough for a typical New England winter. I like that it doesn't have fake fur so the hood fits well and close to skin. Bought the red, great color.
